QUOTE(MGM @ Dec 18 2013, 04:19 PM) Wait for me. Immediately paid my Cukai Harta after reading this, your kiasuism is infectious. Just hope that the 30k not used up yet cos there are people who are not aware of the reduction of rebate from 5% to 1%, and routinely paid their bills since yesterday. only certain ppl get the sms for 5% ?

QUOTE(MeToo @ Dec 18 2013, 12:36 PM) Separate table for those spending 1k, 3k, 5k, should be sufficient, and would encompass a much larger audience then a 5k/mth category. Anyway, kudos to your work, I visit your blog regularly to keep up with the best deals (kiasu-ism ) 1.5k would be sweet as well

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Dec 18 2013, 06:10 PM) DarReNz - if for RM1.5K without Petrol - Watami may just be perfect for you.
well this will be the 3rd best card after amex & wise card however you would need to spend another 2k to achieve the rm 150 otherwise it's just rm 90 so it's good for the big spenders if you have maximized your other 2 cards

QUOTE(ExpZero @ Dec 23 2013, 01:43 PM) Hi, Yes, GE don't accept AMEX and GE don't charge on weekend. If it does, I'll use Maybank2cards That's the reason I'm using OCBC to swipe my insurance and unit trust. it's about the same if you use aeon watami and your insurance is about rm3k or 5k This post has been edited by DarReNz: Dec 23 2013, 03:31 PM

QUOTE(herc @ Dec 23 2013, 02:49 PM) ya, thats the main concern on the GST, will try to call CS during GST month.. if i dont spend the balance amount on OCBC, I will only spend on MBB ordinary card, which earn me only TPs. A rough calculation showed me, if I spend over 700 per month, I shall use OCBC instead of ordinary TP cards. yeah 1% CB is still better than 1X points

QUOTE(1282009 @ Dec 24 2013, 11:35 AM) Thank you - a good summary. It just reaffirms my intention to apply the other card while keeping the ocbc titanium. I guess my senario is bit different since I do not have spending on petrol as I own a company petrol card and mobile. u can always use petrol for the other cars eg. families etc

QUOTE(twins9 @ Dec 31 2013, 09:07 PM) HLB Wise or MACH card better? I need to transfer all my online auto debit to one card and I dont know which one now. CIMB only 0.5% AND ALLIANCE CASH back sucks too. I dont spend enough on HLB Wise to qualify for 10% because I have to remember to swipe 10x per month @50 to qualify! How to do that religiously? Card just got charged RM50. Then, asked for upgrade to WC, says got annual fee and gst waiver. So, now waiting for new card. They are supposed to cancel the old card and reverse the gst charged on that card...then transfer all my online billing to new card and get gst waiver on new card. Or else I will be paying RM50 for old card...killed after replaced by WC, then pay RM50 again (waived) for new card. Anyone understand how this works? This will give me time to apply for new card before transferring all to another card. REally troublesome! u can fill in the form for sms transaction alert to set it to RM1 so you can easily manage the 10 transactions just make sure u don't swipe it all at the last minute towards the end of the month, auto debit u can consider the aeon watami card as long you hit rm 3k in 3 months This post has been edited by DarReNz: Dec 31 2013, 09:54 PM

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Dec 31 2013, 11:21 PM) Just for your info, we can request all banks to set the trigger limit to our preference. They will tell you it is not possible, but will comply straight away once you report this to Bank Negara. u mean for citibank I saw the lowest alert u can set it online is rm 201 so it can be rm 1 as well ?

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jan 1 2014, 10:11 PM) Most large bills like school fee, hospital bill, car service n repair bill, insurance premium, home appliances, gadgets, general merchandise retail outlets can't be paid by Amex. Therefore OCBC unlimited 1% is still pretty good to cater for these payment categories. Im keeping this card since it is a free for life card. As for the GST, I think it is still a discretionary waiver depending on one's spending and repayment record. this card is good if you are a big spender > 5k per month

QUOTE(LoveMeNot @ Jan 22 2014, 02:29 PM) Thanks guys for your reply! Don't quite spend much. My maybank2 Visa is mainly tied to my installment plans. I rarely use it to swipe. I use Amex over the weekend prolly not more than 500 per month. Pay hp bills with amex as well. As for UOB, currently using it for petrol and sometimes for buying stuff at the pharmacy/grocery/hypermarket. Overall. excluding the installment plans, I spent not more than 1k using my CC. i'll keep it till your next anniversary date and use it at places that doesn't accept amex

QUOTE(victorywp @ Jan 23 2014, 09:57 AM) yes, other banks like hsbc or standchart never fail on this. but for ocbc, they seems like don't entertain to absorb the gst anymore after they changed the t&c. unless maybe if your gst anniversary was in dec'13/jan'14 and you have already spent >rm10k well before they changed the t&c. then they might consider to absorb for this time and just this time only. u never know they might waive it but then again i think ocbc concentrating in getting new customers to sign up, they are at my office lobby for a few days promoting the 1%

QUOTE(LaiN87 @ Feb 17 2014, 09:44 PM) I have canceled my OCBC card too. OCBC not worth keeping especially now without the RM50 GST rebate. Even Maybank2card AMEX without weekends can get 2.5% on anything you buy. 5x reward points. Beats this OCBC without doubt. Maybank2card and WISE for me. most ppl will just keep ocbc till near the gst date, and those who applied watami most likely doesn't have wise

QUOTE(victorywp @ Feb 18 2014, 10:15 AM) for me, aeon watami and hlb wise have different use. aeon watami is for insurance, car service/repair, dining, other common purchases. mainly use during weekdays, or weekends (only if amex is not accepted). hlb wise is for groceries, petrol, mobile. also, mbb2amex for weekends expenses. U have cancelled your titanium ? U must be spending about rm3k per month This post has been edited by DarReNz: Feb 18 2014, 10:03 PM
