9 in 10 ipad airs have the yellow tint. Apparently it was mentioned that it is not a defect but simply an uneven distribution of the new energy saving LEDs that apple used. It's not a problem, really and after using it for more than a month, I don't even notice it's there. It's only really obvious when u have split keyboard, but if u notice the distribution is very even so you have a warm left keyboard part and a cool right keyboard part. Nothing wrong with that. Just live with it and enjoy your ipad. It's a stunning device but hoping that iOS 7.1 solves the safari crashes, then it's a perfect tablet.

There is nothing wrong with the ipad mini retina's screen. Stop reading all these silly reports. Yes, it's a fact that ipad air has a slightly better color reproduction, but that's just the way it is. If u compare a BMW 5 series against a 7 series, there will always be some differences, right? So stop comparing and enjoy your devices. Ipad mini retina is one heck of a device and IMO is the best compact tablet around.
