Bought from SenQ yesterday. After the sales lady unsealed the package and turn it on, i ask her to stop at the select wifi step. I can roughly check the pixel with the white setup background. Also check the back and edges for scratch or anything, with the plastic wrapper intact.

Why the shop so kepoh want to activate the Ipad for the customer? I will just treat it like purchase online which i should receive a sealed package and after unboxing, everything should be handled by myself, not the sales person. Normally i dun let the sales person touch my precious new devices much. tongue.gif

Haha. I was looking on Note 10.1 also but I find no point buying a note 3 with bigger screen. So I give a try on iOS on iPad smile.gif
Did a guy trying to promote YES broadband for RM 200?

Btw, did you notice the display set got slightly yellowish on the left side of the screen?
*
Nope, no one approach me for the YES bb. Only a malay lady served me. Din really check the display unit properly coz my 2 kids were busy "testing" it while I was checking the stock availability with the sales lady.

Btw, some photos attached for the UAG casing i took few minutes ago in my office during lunch hour. biggrin.gif The case is very solidly built and offer good protection but a bit on the heavy side. It come with a weird rubber smell too from the material it uses. sweat.gif

Oh I see. Eh nice UAG case. Does it add a lot weight on the iPad?
I remember you bought it with 50% discount right?
*
wow... you really have good memory. Yes, got it for half of the price of USD49.95, converted to about RM80 or so only.

Can feel the weight but for its size and protection, consider not bad already. It has auto wake/sleep function too.

For my case, I requested the Apple Store staff to activate for me.  I need it activated while in Hong Kong.  Great thing is that the Apple store have a section for customer to sit down to activate and customize their new purchase.  The internet speed is super fast too so I manage to download many games and apps so my kids can use it while on vacation.
*
just back from HK too end of last month with my family. Thought of getting my Ipad Air there and also visit one of the Apple store there but due to time constraint, din manage to make it. Yes, their bb is super fast. Even my hotel room free wifi is freaking fast - my wife uploaded about 10+ photos from her Note 3 to facebook in just seconds. The PCCW HKD69 tourist sim pack is also very fast and great value for money.

It takes quite a while for me to download quite a few games/apps from AppStore yesterday with my home Streamyx 8mbps. Occasionally will pop up a message saying the apps cannot be downloaded at the moment too. doh.gif Need to retry 2-3 times.

yes!!! today is Friday, can play with it more tonight. Got to load lots of mags, books and videos into it tonight. rclxm9.gif

Got problem with wifi connection, when try to connect with hotspot, suddenly can't connect with it, by reset the whole system is the only solution, anyone having the same problem? Or it because of the OS, cuz haven't update yet.
*
my Ipad Air wifi was working fine with my Asus DSL-N55U modem/router since I bought it on Thursday but yesterday seems cannot maintain the connection well. Change connection to 5.0Ghz band instead of default 2.4Ghz band solved the problem.

Play a few rounds of Battlefield 4 Commander on the Ipad Air, awesome!!! thumbup.gif This is yet to be able to do on my android devices.

Bought a cheap RM15 screen protector at Holiday Plaza JB, applied for me on the spot. Not very finger print friendly but good enough for temporary measure until i get the glass SP.

What brand of glass sp you getting? I planning to get one also smile.gif
*
Top preference will be Spigen Glas.t. But still surveying - may try China's cheap Glass SP at Adix82 at Singapore Burlington Square. Uncle Benny fixed his Note 3 Momax Glass SP there. Thinking of getting the Glass SP for Ipad Air and 2 x Note 3 one shot. For the price of 1 SGP Glas.t for Ipad Air, almost can get all 3 China SP for 3 devices. sweat.gif

Spigen Glas.t doesn't have round edge. I was looking on Glass-M sp.
Anyway, Adix82 got stock for cheap glass sp for air?
If yes, I might drop by his shop tomorrow smile.gif
*
Glass-M about RM200, not really cheap. You can try contact adix82 at his FB. He is promoting a "Clasy" brand glass sp now. If you dropby his shop tomorrow, can I tumpang to get 1 Glass SP for Ipad Air and 3 x Momax Glass SP for Note 3? I can self collect at your place myself at time convenient to you. Thank you in advance. biggrin.gif

Glass-M only cost around RM100 based on the pricing on Glass-M website
Any link to adix82 selling list or thread?
*
If RM100 then worth to try. Like cyian said, local sellers mark up a lot. doh.gif If you do a bulk, i will join. biggrin.gif Or maybe i can do a bulk. hmm.gif but kinda lazy lah. blush.gif

Adix82 does not really has a sales thread that list all his goodies but he has a FB page - https://www.facebook.com/adix82

btw, thanks for the link

If you do go to Singapore, try check with Adix82 first if he got ready stock Glass SP for Ipad Air. Or you prefer buy direct from Glass-M? Seems like their postage only USD5 max to anywhere in the world but need to wait 10 days or so i think. Glass-M is a more reputable brand? The LYN seller mention they are the OEM for Spigen, dun know how true is that. sweat.gif

I think might be feasible to buy direct from Glass-M since their postage is reasonable. Just need to have some patience for it to arrive though. tongue.gif

Later I check out his album at facebook first. I think I would prefer Glass-M over Glasy because I never heard Glasy before hmm.gif
Where did you see the postage cost USD5 only?

I'm not sure about Glass-M reputable brand or not..

If you're ordering, help me order one as well smile.gif
*
He said Glasy is from Korea but dun know how true is that. laugh.gif

The postage of Glass-M is at their main page - lower section. I think I will buy from Glass-M directly then, since it is better known here. So KKW and cyian each 1 piece Ipad Air? You guys want the slim 0.4 mm (USD28.99) or the nano 0.28mm version (USD31.99). I will place the order tonight after work. smile.gif

slimmer one won't make the home button too deeply recessed. Thicker one will have better protection? Hard to decide. laugh.gif I think i will get the nano one.

which glass sp are you using for the Note 3? The only glass SP i used was the SGP Glass SP for Note 1, quite thick and make the home button quite recessed. I think it is the first glass sp back then.

So we share the USD5 postage equally, ok? Do PM me your name and contacts for easier communication. biggrin.gif

if not, count me in  biggrin.gif

We all order separately eventually coz combined shipping only save USD1 postage per set. So no point ship all to me and then use Poslaju to ship out again to each person as Poslaju will definitely cost more than USD1. sweat.gif

Glass-M Glass SP for Ipad Air. The nano 0.2mm version is sold for RM195 here at the garage. We bought ourselves direct from Glass-M (http://theglass-m.com/) only cost USD37 inclusive of USD5 postage. I also order some Note 3 Glass SP too. biggrin.gif Total saving about 40% from buying in the garage. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(xproc @ Dec 13 2013, 12:54 AM)
but ipad can tether internet connect to other device for more than 16 hours non stop ... (if no open screen).... if iPhone tether to ipad ... 2 hours battery GG....
*
the problem is Ipad Air is using Nano sim, another main reason i got the wifi version. I have LTE version of Nexus 7 2013 and Note 10.1 2014 - both using microSIM, good to go with my multi-sim line for surfing. The price difference of about RM300 for LTE Ipad Air is actually not much for the convenience offered, in the long run. If not becoz of the nano sim, i would have bought the LTE version too.

Actually using my Note 3 to tether can last one whole day. And with a Note 3 spare battery always around with me, battery life of the Note 3 is not a concern at all. And another thing i notice - when tether with Ipad Air, the Note 3's battery life is longer and not as warm if compared to tethering with a android device (Nexus 7 2013 or Note 10.1 2014). I think maybe Ipad Air not as multi-task as android devices, so not having so much simultaneous connections to Note 3 at one time, logical? hmm.gif

Btw, the charging speed of Ipad Air is really fast, comparing time to fully charge the Note 10.1 2014. thumbup.gif

Um, you do know Apple has a branch in SG, not an actual shop but Apple SG handles distribution all Apple stock in SEA probably.

So not surprising you can get better service there cos you're dealing directly with Apple.
Local resellers claim warranty have to claim from Apple SG, thats why it takes 2 weeks. MidValley's Machine is a retail shop ONLY, they don't have an online store, they don't do delivery. They're not Apple.

If you want Apple's top notch service, buy from their online store. They'll send DHL to pick up your iPad and deliver you a new one.
*
not only Apple, most hardware warranty processes are top notch in Singapore even with distributors - normal a one-to-one swap on the spot if the distro has buffer stock.

Btw, cannot stand the IOS - trying to download my Spotify premium to Ipad Air but it keep giving a message saying the Ipad is idling, so sync stop. mad.gif Have to keep the screen on while waiting for the 100+ songs to be downloaded. rclxub.gif No such problem with Spotify on my Android devices. whistling.gif Everything run nicely in the background.

No use complaining about SG having overall better service, since you live here T_T Time to consider migration maybe?

Maybe problem with Spotify instead of iOS? Geram then sell your iPad Air. smile.gif
*
I live in JB, so some hardware that need immediate replacement like PSU, i will buy from Singapore. biggrin.gif

First time trying iOS, so will give it some chance since i already knew its limitation before I put my cold hard cash on it. Apart from the annoying Spotify problem, reading mags and books are great on Ipad Air. More apps in the AppStore too. thumbup.gif
