my 1800XL has 1.4ns memory which running at 500mhz (1000mhz effective) and has CL 8 at 500mhz.
according to samsung memory datasheet, to run at rated 1.4ns which is 700mhz, the CL should be 10, allright.. i understand till this part.
i'm planning to use rabit 2.0a to edit the bios and flash to my vga card
i've been checking with other reference bios which in the x1800 category which uses samsung memory. and i can't help noticing "memory refresh rate" variable in the rabit 2.0a.
i've checked the bios memory timings for 1800xt and 1800xl and i notice all timing variable is identical except for "memory refresh rate" which XL(1.4ns part) has 3B and XT(1.2ns part) has 46.
whats the relation of "memory refresh rate" to memory speed? higher the speed, the higher the value for it?
please advice.
ps : so can i increase the clock speed of memory and also increase the appriorate CL for that speed while other variable remains constant..?
