a few of my forum mates (who are also signed artistes) advised me not to get dj headphones as they're not meant for producers... i suppose they have their reasons as some of them are djs also...

akg k240df,k240m are meant for professional studio monitoring. You will notice lot of musician and radio DJ use them. I saw wang Lihom use Akg too.

I didnt remove the black cloth or the black spounge, the layer sounds to me it's the one which makes the sounds muffled, once remove it then I starting to feel regret, it's too harsh to my ears! I just have to find out what's tracing paper of and then DIY and put it back! I believe my baby could offer me much more, I'll keep on trying more tricks to get the best out of her

that is not always the case... trust me. what makes a dj headphone is they're able to produce strong, non-distorted bass kick... allowing nice beatmatching to be done. high end headphones on the other hand provide excellent acoustic isolation. yes, dj headphones are usually more solid built, but then again, it's not all... so, would you foul out the rule that djs never use a high end headphone for dj'ing?
