Picanto got stock now?

Planning to buy it as my first car.  thumbup.gif

When I told my parents they just laughed at me. They really have low opinion of KIA. Not sure why. They die die want me to buy Myvi instead. I actually did some research I found out that Picanto has more safety features vs Myvi.

Unfortunately there is no more new Picanto for now, only used units available in the used car market.

Anyone Picanto's radio changes channel itself automatically? I sent my car to Kia PJ Red Cube, they told me that my radio has no probelm at all as all Picanto is facing this issue. Even if they change a new radio for me, the problem still exist... Is this true? My Picanto is 2018 model  sad.gif

just noticed this post today

this problem is caused by the RDS setting in the radio. to turn it off you need to navigate to a secret menu to turn off. tell the SC, they should know how to do it

if they say dont know then PM me, I will invite you to the FB owner's group and show u the video

Naza, the Malaysian distributor of Kia, confirmed in the news that it is letting go of Kia. Let's wait and see if the brand continues its presence here, and who will take up the distributorship. I saw recent test drives and reviews of Kias in Korea, and they're really good cars. The new K5 looks great!

Yes, that's right. Need to wait for new distributor to officially take over before they can unveil their plans for Malaysia. It is a very challenging landscape for auto industry in Malaysia for foreign brands, unless they embark on CKD program, which requires high sales volume to offset the high investment in setting up the assembly line.

Now that explains a lot of bad experiences i'm having. I have a 2 years old Picanto Ex. 1st year was OK, car and SC all OK.

Then on my 18mth service, the Glenmarie SC that has been good and nearby my house said that they no longer have the engine oil applicable for the free service package that came with my car promotion. I'm entitled to 2 years free service+parts as a sales promotion. They also can't give me other oil brand that they have, and they also not allowed me to top up $$ for other oil, or bring my own oil. A bit strange at that time when I don't know why yet. They reco me to Puchong branch saying that they still have the oil stock for the free service package. So I got my 18th mth service done at Puchong. A bit far.. but OK.

Then recently on my 24mth service (which is my last free service, and the MOST expensive service with brake, AT all in), again Glenmarie told me no oil stock. Weird why after 6 months still no stock??? I went to Puchong again and this is "where you just need 1 incident to lose a customer forever", but this time in order for Puchong to honor the free service, they forced me to opt in unnecessary items -
1. Sanitizer RM127
2. Petrol and engine flush RM125
3. Aircond service RM137

I'm opted out the optional item but they insisted I need to get it and is recommended. I then questioned what is the basis of recommendation of those items - despite a 24mth/40K service yes.. but my car only clocked 12k after 2yr due to extreme low usage as a backup car. Is there a need to flush and aircond service... and what is that sanitizer about.. kill covid? Only after further questioning then only they start to be truthful.. that because NAZA is NOT compensating SC agent on free service that they provided and all payment is overdue and in debt. So most SC now just stop honoring free service (which now i finally know why Glenmarie say no oil). Puchong is the last SC in Selangor that still give free service - but they need to recuperate via expensive optional items.

Long story short - I ended up didn't do the service. I called Kia Customer Support, escalated the issue (well this is a story on its own for another day on my experience dealing with customer support and escalation). I didn't give high hope and I'm not sure even if i win the case, that i still want to return to the SC to get it service with all these bad taste in everyone mouth... i'm not sure whether the service will still be professional.. or worst... sabotage? I decided to just forgo my free 24th service and get it done outside.. and yes.. also forgo my kia warranty in doing so. Take is as a lesson learn.. don't ever cheapsake on your purchase.. you get what you paid for....

Go to JD Auto at Kota Kemuning. I highly recommend this sc for all Kia owners in Klang valley. Despite the current status of Kia in Msia, the owner remains professional

Kia Motors Corporation plans to make Malaysia the regional manufacturing hub for the Kia vehicles in Asean and other potential markets.

Kia Asia Pacific president and chief executive officer Ted Lee said the South Korean carmaker had recognised the vast potential Malaysia would bring.

Kia had found it timely to raise the bar to progressively tap into Malaysia's potential, Lee said at the signing of a joint venture agreement with Bermaz Auto Bhd (BAuto) to form Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd here today.

For a start, Kia Malaysia will undertake the assembly of completely knocked down (CKD) of three Kia vehicles.

The first two models - Kia Seltos and Kia Carnival - are expected to be produced locally within 12-18 months.

The third model will be determined at a later stage.

Kia is the second largest carmaker in South Korea, and together with parent Hyundai Motor Group, is the world's fifth largest automotive manufacturer.

On the potential investment into the CKD operation, Yeoh said it would take about US$20 million to set up the production line of a product.

He also said that Kia Malaysia would help address the after sales issues faced by Kia owners under the previous distributor.

Kia has appointed BAuto's subsidiary Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd as the new distributor of its vehicles in Malaysia.

As the new distributor, Dinamikjaya holds the right to distribute and sell Kia vehicles, CKD and completely built up (CBU), sale of genuine parts as well as in the provision of after-sales service and to build Kia's brand reputation and awareness in Malaysia.

Elaborating on the new partnership, Lee said Kia had chosen BAuto after months of searching for the right partner.

"With BAuto's proven capability in successfully building up automotive marques in Malaysia and the Philippines as well as their automotive manufacturing experience, we believe we have placed the Kia brand in good hands under the capable leadership of its."

Tae said BAuto was a renowned listed automotive company in Malaysia with a strong management team and good track record.

Yeoh said Kia vehicles were well-known for their stylish looks, packed with smart features, frequent facelifts and new launches that keep prospective buyers excited over its products.

"The partnership will complement our existing automotive businesses and we look forward to a successful collaboration with Kia," added Yeoh

Hi there, I'm looking into purchasing a 2014 second hand Picanto.

Is there any major issues I should be looking out for, since there's no more warranty?

Hello everyone,
I'm a fresh graduate who recently worked for 5 few months I'm planning to trade in my Viva elite 2012 for a secondhand Kia Picanto 2018.

Any senpai or senior can give me any suggestions for this deal? The only reason that I wanted to change my car is that when I drive my Viva for a long drive (200-300 km+) I can feel the absorber and the other part start to break down.

Dont know about this model, but hey if you are ok with a higher interest rate for used car... the 2018 should be selling about RM40k that is not included insurance yet. Should be problem free on the suspension part until it reach an older age...
I heard many have ABS/speed sensor issue, at the moment macam no stock... however the car can run like normal with the warning on.

Hope you get a high trade in value!

My next service will be 120k but this table has only up to 110k. May I know if anyone has done the 120k service and how much is the cost?

If based on the table above, I would say that 120k will be the combination of both the 40k and 60k as both are due at 120k. Meaning it will cost quite a big number for this round of service sweat.gif sweat.gif
