Not for US PSN...been playing yesterday, and today; if PSN down, can't see online stuffs.
And I think I logged in MY PSN yesterday, still ok.

I bought my PS4 back in 2014, no regret having spent enjoyable time with it; even with my PS3 still having many backlog unfinished games (darn you PS+ 'free' games! )

Having said that, since PS4 Neo release date maybe is this year, why not wait for few months more? If the price replaces normal PS4, then good for you; if the normal PS4 price dropped and you're sure you won't need PS4 Neo extra processing power, then better for you.

Or you can plan your near future gaming ... for me, this year is VR year, next year is 4K year; I'll most probably skip PS4 Neo even though I'll almost certainly will buy PSVR. Next year, when more 4K TVs choices are available (LG 49" with HEVC support is tempting), maybe I'll get a Project Scorpio (heresy!! this is PS thread!! , haha ... Nintendo NX, still not enuf exclusives to get one yet). Then again, with affordable RX480, 4K PC gaming could be another option. In short, it's a great time to be a gamer!

My PS Plus in US, but I buy mostly R3 disc games; tried those R3 multiplayer online successfully before ... so, digital purchase from PSN store should be the same.

If my primary account with PSN Plus is US, can my secondary account (which is MY) without PSN Plus play online multiplayer ... I thought I did play online with my MY PSN account before, will try to confirm after this ....

Sadly, 2TB nowadays still not enuf ... ... with all the PS Plus 'free games', Humble Bundle charity sales sometimes, PSN sales, F2P games, demos, etc. ... I find myself still need to delete games.

Each region PS Plus are separate, so if you subscribe to PS Plus Asia, you're not subscribing to PS Plus US; so, can't download R1 PS Plus free games or enjoy discounts ..., and vice-versa.

Can, can subscribe to PS Plus and redeem MGSV:PP first, no need to press download first; then after you got your PS4 Pro, when you login using your PSN ID with PS Plus, can see the game in your library, ready to download.

You tried to turn it on anyway even though you don't have 240v to 110v transformer?

If that's true, burned already lor part of your board. You just fed over-voltage that your JP PS1 can't handle. Malaysia / UK / Europe house voltage is 230v/240v ... JP/US voltage is 110v/120v. The seller already warned you, but you didn't listen or even google first.

But if the burned chip(s) can be replaced by a good technician, you can try lor, but most probably it's not worth it. Ask around if you really want to salvage your freshly fried PS1. Wasted your CH-1001 or 1002 (something?) ...

Sorry ... I don't know much about PS1 ... never owned one, no money to buy as student last time.
I asked my friend, he also said maybe the board burned ... but maybe only the power supply.
If don't wanna give up, maybe look at that and replace power supply first lor. A competent electrician should be able to troubleshoot which component no current or voltage passing through.

Actually, if you really want a PS1, why not look for SCPH1000 ~ 1003 SKU ... some audiophiles believe that the sound chip AKMsomething used in those earlier models are great for Audio CDs.

Yes, you can buy US PSN games, and playable in other accounts; if not mistaken, as long as all your PSN accounts are activated as primary.

As for paying for US PSN, if you don't have US credit card, then need to buy US PSN prepaid cards ... available from sellers in Garage Sales, and various places (just look around for which offer better rates).

US PSN limit is USD200 ... MY PSN, couldn't google the official answer, so assume the limit is around 3 or 4 times the price of a full game?

Your new PS4, should have dual-band 2.4GHz & 5GHz Wifi ... so, doesn't really matter if your home wifi router is on 2.4GHz or 5GHz mode only, or both.

If old phat PS4, then that's only 2.4GHz wifi, can't see 5GHz wifi router.

If your new PS4 can see neighbours' wifi, then try to confirm with mobile hotspot wifi, if PS4 can detect, then source of problem most probably your home wifi router ... troubleshoot it lor ... restart your wifi router, etc. ...

Not less nice games lah, it's just Clueless07 hasn't been following PS for a long time, ... consoles are still thriving, even when many says mobile games has taken over (maybe to some degree); but PS, XBox and especially Nintendo Switch still selling well.

Less post in LYN ... like what iguana said; besides FB group, WhatsApp group chats also, much more convenient to arrange online gaming sessions. LYN only maybe to introduce PSN ID, then chat thru PSN Messenger, or others.

Posts like reviews of games, will usually refer to Metacritic, etc.
