guys the video out cable is component cable right? or composite?

i got thick psp(old model) quoted at RM 575, original complete set with new updated software i think is 3.5
is it expensive ? without memory stick.... |

i wish to know...my friend is going to japan....so issit a good idea to ask him to buy me a psp slim from there...will it be cheaper...and most importantly...whats the firmware there : i.e can it be upgrade to the latest firm,ware like 3.71 in malaysia...
