i used basically the same tactic to dominate all competition for third season running
its not even some god tactic

4-4-2 wingers, cross, get stuck in, hassle opponent, hard tackle good players
2 DMs against good teams

^so, the midfield duo in your flat 442 are DM that can play MC?? Or you push the 2 MCs into DM position when up against good teams.?

both are in MC position BUT when i mention DM/MC, its about the stats and player preferred position. DM MUST be able to play in MC position!
i am still in the barrows mentality hence although my wingers have very good attacking stats and can't tackle for sh|t, their role is defensive winger to backtrack and press when not in possession, putting pressure on the opposition to try to win the ball back.

normally its 1 DM and 1 MC (situation a)
for better teams, i put 2 DMs BUT the more creative one in the MC position (situation b)

eg
a) romero/fellaini + kagawa/powell

the MC will be doing his part of moving the ball forrward most of the time
the DM will do all the hard work of bossing the midfield

problem arises for MCs with poor tackling but high aggression
yellow cards and possibility of sending off if the game is going against us ie player frustrated

b) romero + fellaini

similar to a, the DM in MC will be doing the same MC roles BUT since he's got better tackling and marking, he will chip in more in defense duties
