Icon Offshore acquires vessel for US$30 million

Icon Offshore Bhd announced that it has completed the acquisition of an accommodation work boat (AWB) on August 6 for US$30 million (RM95.7 million) from Nam Cheong International Ltd.

The vessel will be the first AWB to add to the group's fleet of 32 offshore supply vessels (OSV).

"The acquisition is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of our group of companies for the financial year ending December 31, 2014 and beyond," it added.

Additionally, Icon had also announced that it will be disposing one utility vessel to Hadi Hamad Al-Hammam Est., Marine Services, a company incorporated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for US$3.88 million.
