Here's a really new case I modded today. In fact I didn't even realise there was an Armor Jr. Kakaka. Anyway, here's a window mod I'm doing for it with fan blowhole to cool a pair of 7900GT SLi.

Here's how the standard side panel looks like.

1st thing to do is use masking tape to mask it up. Then measure n draw out the window outline.

Here's where the fun begins with power tools!!!!!!!! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif
I cut it carefully while wearing protective goggles. Thank god I always do that as while I was cutting, 1 of the dremel discs shattered. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Here's the panel after cutting. After this step it'll be down to filing for the finishing touch.

Now it's time to cut out the acrylic from the big sheet I have. Cut out a square piece according to the size of the window. Then I drew the shape I wanted to fit the window.

user posted image

After cutting the proper shape I needed for the window. Now it's time to draw the outline for the fanhole.

user posted image

Then it's time to start cutting the fanhole.

Here's the acrylic cut to shape with fanhole n holes for the fan mounting.

I can do both. Depends on material of panel n also the radius of the corners.

OK. Here's what I did today.

Took the rough cut acrylic n traced the exact fit that I need. Drew the lines for trimming to exact size.

user posted image

Trimming the extra material off for an exact fit to make it look better though it's gonna b hidden behind the panel.

user posted image

Here's the trimmed acrylic.

Acrylic n panel filed smoothly for perfect finish. Ready for installation of acrylic n panel locks.

user posted image

Double sided tape installed. Peeling off the backing paper for installation onto panel.

user posted image

Sticking the acrylic onto the panel.

user posted image

Done. Now all that's left to do is to peel off the acrylic backing paper.

user posted image

Now just pop the panel locks back into the holes at the top n bottom n Voila! The Thermaltake Armor Jr window mod is complete.

user posted image

Here's the complete window with the fan n grill on for a test fit. The 7900GT in SLi will haf more than enuf supply of cool air now. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Sry I dont haf the case. I only modded the side window.

Anyway, here's how the Armor Jr looks like. It's actually the same as the normal Armor, only a bit shorter.

Just curious here... last time i had mod a cheap case for the side panel ....and i used double side tape to hold it ...those strong and black in color ..

but after while when doing the cleaning ..i realise that is causes difficulty in cleaning the inner edge between the side panel and the acrylic that pasted..

dust was accumulating along the edge... ..

Same thing happens even with screw or rivet mount. Coz wherever there is a gap, dust will accumulate there. Just brush it or blow it off once in a while.
