the first number, 205 or 195 is the tyre width, in millimeters. the second number, which makes it all harder, 50 or 55 or 60 is the tyre profile (sidewall height), in percentage to the tyre width. you need to maintain your sidewall height if you are not changing rim size. 205 55 is closer to your original sidewall height than 195 55.
215 55 would be much closer to your original sidewall height but whether your rim, clearance on the fender/inside can take another 20mm is another factor. one more issue is since the tyre is now wider, is the engine have power enough to move the car without giving any lag feeling to the driver become a question.
Good reply very informative, persona can take max 17inch size and 205 width tyre, my friend using persona alot using 205 55 r17 size seems dont have prob to touch fender or during cornering, just doubt that stock rim can take-it or not with the tyre width215 55 would be much closer to your original sidewall height but whether your rim, clearance on the fender/inside can take another 20mm is another factor. one more issue is since the tyre is now wider, is the engine have power enough to move the car without giving any lag feeling to the driver become a question.
