the temp is quite abnormal plus u use 3rd party cooler..
mayb u can try to reapply TIM with cross method, proper thickness
or double check whether ur heatsink sit/fit properly on cpu....if not resit it back nicely

Thanks for your reply.

I have removed the cooler and found out that i have applied too much thermal paste and the heatsink is not stick firmly on the surface of CPU.

Wipe some thermal paste off and then reapplied the heat sink.

Idle temp is now 10 celsius lesser at 20 - 30c

Expect temp while gaming should be around 50 to 60c . haven't really tried that.

A lesson learnt.

Oh... in this case, you have find the root cause of your problem.
Just wondering, what is the model of your graphic card and what is the game you are playing.
Custom graphic card heat sink is not very common and usually cost a bomb, my suggestion is to save up for full upgrade loh...

I am using gtx580 with a huge heat sink, not sure why it heaty, the problem is , i used speedtest.net to test ping is 26 only, but in game -ping it shows 180-300 ( unstable all the time) , i just play dota2.

not sure wat the issue, i try alot solution already, no improvement, the only way is ON the air cond until the whole thing cold down.

what is the maximum temp for intel i5?
*
max temp will be 100. haha. safe temp will be below 70. 50-70 will be overclocked with not so good air circulation and heatsink. below 50 is nice. below 30, SWEET IS THAT WATERCOOLING IN UR SYSTEM!

thats my defination

Tumpang thread.

Is it normal to see a i5-4570 non k hitting 80c when playing games ? I have not performed any OC and have just installed an old aftermarket cooler - CM Hyper TX 3.

The temp seems worst than the stock cooler....idle is 30 - 40c

was just worrying wrongfully applied thermal paste while changing to the old cooler which led to high core temp while gaming.

Any advice would be appreciated

that way to high. mine is on stock cooler. idle is 30-40.
