DVI and HDMI video signal is the same, no problem. In fact HDMI is basically DVI+Audio. VGA/D-Sub is nono, you're going back to analog.
*
owh okie...so means if i use the dvi to connect acer monitor to my r9 290, my speaker would still have sound right?

Bcos Sapphire is the first to release reference card and stock in the market, somemore asus price more expensive.
For your info all asus, gigabyte and  msi reference card not produced by their own, it could be made by sapphire
*
oops, soli... typed wrong, its reference card.. erm, u know which driver is the most stable now?
