My previous MBB2 Gold was offered to me over the phone, same goes to my wife.

At that time, I had other MBB card, so maybe they call to promote their new card. But for my wife, she didnt have any MBB card but had Hire Purchase with them. My wife asked if that was a scam, so I asked not to give out sensitive info. In the end, the card comes without anything wrong.

My thought is, MBB hardly have roadshow for the credit card, so maybe this is their approach???

I was advise to go to nearest MBB branch to unlink my cancelled Maybankard Petronas Visa from Maybank2U ... is there any other methods ?
*
Your MBB Petronas card has been cancelled? I have the same problem. It stays in M2U and its kinda annoying to see a cancelled card still sticking there for so long. Please share the way to do it and outcome once you done it. Thanks.

Hi,
One of the requirement requires me to provide them with the latest 3 months' savings account activity/current account statements. Just wondering where can I get this?
*
Download from your ebanking or photostat your paper statement which the bank sent to you, or screenshot of the ebanking pages work for me too.

currently own the gold maybank2cards. can i upgrade to platinum and how is the limit?
*
You can either upgrade or submit a new application for platinum. However, holding both MBB2 Gold and Plat still earn you max Rm50 rebate only. Cr limit is depends on ur income and commitment but if the Plat application is successful, normally they will increase ur CL, in my case it was 50% increased, but after increase its still the lowest CL among all my CC sad.gif , even though I use MBB2 the most.

Ah yes. That's what happened. They even transferred my outstandng balance over. IIRC they are able to transfer everything except auto debit instructions and also Easy Pay.
*
If you signed up the auto debit with Maybank (eg. tnb or telekom) then it can be transferred, while if you sign up with merchant (eg. insurance), then you have to update the merchant on new card number.

I've been using amex gold card for more than 5 years, they have never waived the gst.
You have to use your points to waive it.

Been using mbb cc for more than 6 years.... no luck. Coz under no circumstances they would do anything with ur gst I think. Redeem with TP in the only way i guess.

You cant apply credit card with another credit card anymore regardless how long you've been using. You need supportive documents.

Good News - Our MBB 2 AMEX  now has MSOS SafeKey.

I wanted to purchase Air Asia ticket and was rejected because I needed to activate AMEX MSOS SafeKey.

So I called MBB CS and registered for the MSOS for my AMEX. Within minutes I received an SMS informing that my registration has been successful and immediately I can purchase the Air Asia tickets.
*
Good to note! Thanks for the update. Is this what they refer as 3D SSL security? If so then we would expect more website to accept AMEX soon.

Similar to MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by VISA.
I doubt it. Many merchants, especially the smaller ones do not want to accept AMEX because of the high merchant fee, not because there is no Safekey feature. As a matter of fact, AMEX Safekey feature has been around for 3 years already but right until now many online retailers that accept AMEX have not added this feature to their online payment system.
*
I have enquired this, notably Groupon that, why their website stated they accept but at the payment page there is no option to select AMEX and their reply is that AMEX do not implement 3D SSL(or something like that) where it does not comply with BNM regulations, thus they cant accept AMEX until they upgrade their security measures.

adui..totally clean also cant...got other loan also cant  sweat.gif

Your age plus ur record too clean could be the factor you got rejected.

If you are over 30's and have no loan at all, which seems to the bank that you can't even afford a car or property (which in fact you could have all this from family without having you to buy it urself), so you are categorised as a high risk to the bank.

For the same scenario but if you are in the mid 20's, the bank would consider you a fresh grads and just starting to get loan from the bank to own car, property or even CC, you are considered more to the 'normal' ones and hence the approval is normally easier.

If u plan to apply again, support the application with whatever fund u have, e.g. shares, FD, GIA, CASA with documents. If u r cash rich n do not have documents then I think its hard to convince the bank that you are 'normal' or rich.

fyi..im in my 20s...graduated 3 years ago..

if im over 30s and i NEED to have a loan to prove to the bank i can afford car/house..then is downright ridiculous...having a loan doesnt necessary mean a person can fully repay the loan.....and the bank rather see me owe money rather than having real cash on hand?..haha

thanks for the info...will try out other centre
*
Yes, banks prefer you to have loans as they want to know your behaviour of serving loans. A good paymaster record is better than the one with no record. A loan doesn't mean you have to be in a huge debt. A loan is to prove your paying ability. This is what banker told me.

Banks will never reveal the real reason why they reject you, so you can only keep trying to apply. They offered you the card in the first place but the approval is still subject to the management, which means its not pre-approved.

So if u think the money u have in savings account is too little... top it up and on the safe side, let it stay for 3 months then u can apply for the cc again.

I got both VISA when I applied MBB2 Gold and Plat (separate application, not upgrade).

So I guess there's no default.

you are right. only can redeem after the gst is charged. thanks for the information.
there is a bank which we can redeem earlier to deduct gst, but i can't recall which clearly (but surely not mbb since you have confirmed it).  laugh.gif
*
Not sure if you are referring to Citibank. I can confirm that I think last 2 years you can multiple redeem the gst. I fully redeemed with my points for I think RM50x 12 times. All within same calendar month, to use up all my points.

i dont get this.. you pay GST 12 times in the same month? so with this, you will get free GST in the next 11 years?

LoL... I don't think I would ever pledge myself to any bank for the next 11 years.

It means... the bank credit rm600 (rm50 x 12) into my credit card account.

Made some online payment during the weekend after Christmas but ended up posting date is only 31 Dec with transaction date 30 Dec.

Am I to expect this as a norm for online retailers? STEAM platform to be accurate.

I won't be purposely spending during a weekend if that is the case.
*
Maybe you wanna share which online site is that?

I always use paypal if it is available and have no problem. Sometimes the posting date might be a day or two later but transaction date is always the same day.
