QUOTE(NightFelix @ Nov 19 2013, 01:43 PM) Have to keep kill the Yeti daily. Seldom play recently... also, I found that the PlayStore version seems to be save our game progress into the Google Play Services, but not in our devices. i see. thanks for the info. it's the same as the Baidu version then... only with Google Play service... no reason for me to "upgrade"... |

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Nov 19 2013, 01:54 PM) I feel that PlayStore version much more easier to play and lesser real cash in game purchase than Baidu version. So which mean more plants obtainable. damn! really? can help me to check 1 thing? how much to get the Winter Melon in Playstore version? The Baidu need 420000 gold!So I go for PlayStore version in terms for future update. |

QUOTE(zaidi @ Nov 28 2013, 05:01 PM) yes, undervolt and underclock is great start to have high SOT. next, disable unused services. use minimal screen brightness as well. Actually just 6 hours. I think it's cowwithgun. he did it with stock ROM and self-compiled kernel. QUOTE(chlim @ Nov 28 2013, 05:55 PM) Don't know what the fuss is all about SOT? Many do not even know when the SOT is recalibrated. If you continously recharge the phone true out the day without fully charging it the SOT will not reset, so how accurate and your claim of SOT is? Ya, whats the fuss about SOT. I suppose if you want to cheat on the SOT and try to impress someone, you can do that. Photoshop works quite well too. ;-) |

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Nov 28 2013, 06:09 PM) I believe that "Many" you referring to doesn't include cowithgun He he. Thanks for the shout out.He knows android very well. Released ROMs and Kernels for Galaxy W. Then he tweaked the Nexus 4 kernel for his personal use. I don't think it's 7 hours. Should be 6 hours something on his Nexus 4. His claim is 100% trustworthy. Don't mess with him |

QUOTE(tongaz86 @ Nov 28 2013, 06:43 PM) How low did you UC and UV?Mind sharing your kernel i did mine by changing voltage table in this file:Max record on SOT for me is just 4 ¹/² hour. But not really fun doing it because have to make the phone somewhat less smart to archive it. For best battery phone i would go for LG G2.Seems good from consumers review. https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/msm...cpuclock-8064.c You can do the same using custom kernel by many developers that support User Volt Control. |

QUOTE(shinchan5347 @ Nov 28 2013, 07:16 PM) it depends. first, n5 has 2300mAh vs n4 has 2100mAh. naturally, it is 9% better. secondly, the Snapdragon 800's sensor cores help to offload CPU.in theory, you should see noticeable improvement in battery if you phone is mostly low usage. ie: talk time benchmark: n4: 14:17 n5: 16:40 but in full power usage, where all 4 cores will be used, little difference. ie: gaming, browsing: n4: 4:34 n5: 4:46 in mix usage, you should still see improvement. but far better? i prefer the term incremental improvement. source: http://blog.gsmarena.com/nexus-5-grinds-th...y-test-routine/ |

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Nov 28 2013, 08:05 PM) Seriously... It makes me wonder... Whether is all other manufacturer too good at managing battery/power management or is Google too bad at it? No optimization at all?? Nexus 4 has 2100 mAh (Erm... Same as S3???) Nexus 5 has even bigger, at 2300 mAh. But looking at gsmarena's battery test, just as benchmark... S3 is better than both Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, losing out only in talk time. Endurance rating, S3 50 hours N4 32 hours N5 40 hours despite bigger battery. Sometimes... It just make me think that Google never care about optimization for battery. Same battery capacity, both running on Android and Google is the core of android yet getting outperformed in this particular sector. Maybe next iteration of Android, they emphasize on this? Hope so ![]() battery life, amoled is better. brightness, i prefer IPS. for longevity AMOLED color washed out faster than IPS (cannot remember the source) |

Upgraded to 4.4.1 and now running self compiled kernel
MXPlayer won't work in 4.4.1 because they haven't whitelist this version yet. But no reason for me to use it anymore, the "Photo" is now a very capable video player. ps: 1.2ghz only in Nexus 5... in my testing, our still on 1ghz... reverting back to old freq This post has been edited by cowithgun: Dec 9 2013, 10:37 AM |

QUOTE(s30ckf @ Dec 10 2013, 04:31 PM) it's probably hard to see any difference. the source code for 4.4.2 has not been pushed too. so cannot do any diff to find out what was fixed.but from the patch i can see 73 system app got patched from 4.4.1. mostly just small patch, so it could be just version update. but facelock.apk and googlecamera.apk got quite a big patch. in bin, the following file got patched: debuggerd.p efsks.p hostapd.p mdnsd.p qcks.p sensors.qcom.p wpa_suplicant.p most patch are small... except sensors.qcom. in framework, 78 apk got patched. mostly small patches, except telephony-common.odex and ext.jar. in lib, 18 files has patch. biggest of all is libpatts_engine_jni_api.so.p, this file is about text-to-speech. i guess it can now understand more languages? libwebviewchromium.so.p has huge patch too. this is your chrome. libwvdrmengine.so.p got huge patch too.. DRM media stuff. |
