since there is others ppl extracted the launcher out in separate apk already...so u still can install it ar...while u still have options to try on it and compare to existing laucnher....^^

It's GEL works like nexus 5 on our nexus 4...no worry^^

Currently on Nexus 5 port now. Been using PA as my daily rom. Waiting for official release in a few weeks time i guess.

Guys, help! I tried to update my gf's Nexus 4 OTA, but no system update. I read about this and decided to try it.

clear cache, clear data and force stop for below Apps

1. Google Play Store
2. Google Play Service
3. Google Service Framework

And now my Play Store I can't dl or update apps, it keeps pop up the error. Error retrieving information from system. I tried restarting the phone but the problem persist.

it will come automatically. just need to wait.

from 4.2 to 4.3 , i do the step like yours but it didnt give me the error.

updating mine to 4.4 kitkat....

try delete google account..and then add it bac again

If it doesn't recover, remove your Google account on the device. Then sign in again.

Yup, just removed the account and sign in back, everything is working fine now. Plus, there is OTA update now.

Just 238.9mb, but the progress bar moving so slow.

mine one took 15 min only for 5 mbps speed.

The default email app is all sort funny in kit Kat, have you considered using other email client like K9 mail? Open source too.

erm.. how do we revert custom kernel back to stock kernel?

tried semaphore kernel.. kinda sluggish..
or any other kernel recommend by all?

I use the native Email and Exchange for my company email. There are a lot of strict network and security policies to follow in order to load company email in our mobile device, the other third party email app is not an option, it wont work

Guys, I've done updating N4 to 4.4. But what I notice is that the dialer's call log and dialer is not displaying my contact. Instead it just display phone numbers, no contact names, I checked my 'people', it shows all my contact though.

Is there a way to enable call log to show contact name instead of number?

Mine able to show no issue. Try check if your contact synced or not ?

something to do with your call setting ?

Just sync my gf google's contact and now the contact names are showing in the dialer. Thanks for the tips guys! She's not a tech-y girl.

I use email a lot & the only email app I use is the build in email app. I don't have much issues with the email app.
I see a lot users complain about the build in email app but I don't really understand what's the actual complaints are about.

Maybe the problem is caused by the your company email server setting things?
Anyone else in your company using Android device and build in email app?

Sometimes this sort of issue don't need much of technical skills but need some effort to find the solution online.
IMO your girlfriend is just plain lazy.
