I'm blur oledi. Is gov use gen 8 or gen 9 accord?

The rebadged Perdanas are GEN8. I don't think the black coloured one are the ones ordered for the gomen coz' when they made the announcement to go for Accord before, it was for GEN8 Accord model.

Initially the federal government wanted to replace the ageing Perdanas with Honda Accord Gen 9 (latest model). Government ordered 300 (mix of 2.0 and 2.4) units Black GEN 9 Honda Accord for government use. This was supposed to be a straight purchase with Honda Malaysia SB without any rebadging involved. Just like other states government purchase of Camry for state exco use. I.e the ministers/dept director will be traveling around in Honda Accord Gen 9.

But Proton is not happy with losing the status of official government car, to proton it was matter of national pride. At that time Proton already working on Perdana rebadging project based on Accord Gen 8. So they went complain to their godfather, the godfather then force the government to do a u turn and cancel the 300 unit Gen 9 Honda Accord order and force the government to accept the rebadged Proton Perdana (Gen 8 Accord). Which (rebadged Perdana) Proton promised will be ready for delivery to government by January 2014.

If you asked dealers for Black Gen 9 Accord around September/October 13 the answer you would get is no stock and can’t confirm when stock will be available for Black Accord as all production unit of black Accord are allocated to government order. But after government cancelled the Gen 9 Accord order Honda was left with a lot of black Accord stock hence the sudden availability of Gen 9 Black Accord.

But in my opinion it doesn't matter Black or what it still comes from honda factory as long as the owner like the colour then enjoy the ride.

The FMT report also mentions that since then, the Government had already issued a purchase order for 350 units of the new 2013 Honda Accord (not the older model as previously reported).

There is no phone mirroring available, no idea on 2.4 though.

I only managed to get RM 1000 discount from SA ,after threatened him to go to another Honda branch who was willing to offer me with such discount. I also saw 3 more black coloured Accord which were heavily tinted, that is to be delivered to Bank Negara.

just visited Showroom in JB, not more 2013/2014 stock except 2.0 vti, new booking have to wait till March/April for delivery

Bro i booked my 2.4 Modern Steel back in early Oct 13 and my deliveries will only be in Feb 14

Bro Wiraone, thanks for the info. One of my fren told me that this feature can be disabled, not sure how true is it.

There are still 2.4VTi-L for year 2013 available in PG according to the salesperson but not many units left.
No more white and modern steel color according to her.

Some tips to improve your audio on this later version of Accord. I've tried it and happy with the result.

Steps:
Press Nav + Menu + Back 3 seconds
The 2 screens will display debug menus you should not have access normally
Press return on the touch screen one (you don't need it)
Press Menu for 3 seconds
You will be in the developer menu
Scroll down to DSP/AMP settings
Scroll to 'Flat' set it to 'On'
Enjoy!

Accord comes with glass printed antenna

Does adding a tint film cause the quality to drop? I've a problem receiving some of the stations near my housing estate (Sg Buloh) but my Triton doesn't have this problem. I have problem on my Merc too, it uses the same type of antenna as Accord. Guess, need to fill up my USB thumbdrive with good musics then

Anyway, for those who've got their cars, did you guys get a survey in your mailbox? I've got it yesterday but yet to fill it up. This has to do with QA of the car.

My guess , the tint was less than 50% VLT ,definitely cannot see inside the car,for those Bank Negara top officials i think, for safety reason.
