Editing Editing .mov in VirtualDub, how?

I tried googling and found this
http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t284288.html but it doesn't work for me. Is there any other possible way so I can edit .mov files using VirtualDub?? BTW, how do we download files from the Apple trailer site other than using the Pro/paid version of Quicktime?? Thx. P/S: I dun wan to do any converting as it degrade the video quality.
