I can afford what. Just I use my money in a better way. If the shop stated "once tried must buy" and I didn't buy, then I'm are fault of course.
Don't tell me you never try something and choose not to buy? Or saw something, tried but didn't get it. But later u saw cheaper price and u didn't buy but still go back to the more expensive shop and buy there?

OK. I admit I'm cheapskate but guess this is typical Malaysian mentality. Even I have plenty cash to spend, cheaper by half and I don't opt it, I must be pretty idiot.

things i need to actually try in a shop (shoes, clothing, etc), i don't buy online. if i need to test these stuff in an LBS, i honour them by buying from them. sure i can test, see if it fits, and go back home click click on the internet. but no, i've never done that. i've cycled for years, but i've never done that. i honour my LBS.

sure i've tried stuff but decided not to buy them. but that's because they didn't fit me actually i never test stuff i can't afford. i'd look for something else, in another LBS. not online shop. because online shop can never provide me the opportunity to let me try them on.

i've bought parts online, but i installed them myself.

and please don't stereotype others.

actually.. the question should not be about weight... it should be about decreased rolling resistance

for example..

vittoria latex road tube is about 75gr
http://www.vittoria.com/product/inner-tubes/

michellin aircomp latex is about 80gr
http://www.michelinbicycletire.com/micheli...rcomplatex.view

conti race 28 (the standard butyl one) is about 105gr (this is retailed at RM26)

conti race 28 light is about 65gr (haven't seen it, but should be latex pricing)

and the most extreme conti supersonic is 50gr (mind, you this is a RM70++ tube in KH) and it is known to just puncture very easily as it is ultrathin butyl
http://www.conti-online.com/www/download/b...ad/Tubes_en.pdf

latex is better in rolling resistance and is less prone to pinch flats (not punctures but pinch flats)... and as rumor suggest, it is comfier even at higher pressures because the material expands more easily than the harder butyl tubes...

and to further prove it's the better choice... it is the tube that is sewn into most high end tubulars... you say, is weight or rolling resistance more important?

and fug man... 20 grams dun count lar... that fella not at that level man...

when one start, shaving 3 grams off a skewer, boring out the stem and sawing and filing seatpost only start telling me 20 grams is important to...

else, dun "ngiow" on small numbers... it makes jack shit difference when it punctures and worst.. the price of replacing the tubes... i jus buy maxxis tubes bro.. sorry...

how can u have ultralightweight AND performance????

when we talk about road tubeless, does it mean tubeless specific? or can we convert normal clincher to tubeless using sealant like mtb?

whichever way lar... you want to tape like stans or you buy tubeless ready wheels like the new shimano's or fulcrum two way fit or mavic UST sort of shit... whichever keeps your tires hooked onto the rim...

furthermore, which tubeless dun recommend you put sealant...  sealant is like using condoms during sexy time... even though it's not fertile period for your lady partner... it is still better to have insurance...
*
what i mean is, normal tyres can ah?

or must use specific tubeless tyres, like this? http://www.hutchinsontires.com/en/road/20-...d-tubeless.html

as far as i understand.. you have to use tubeless specific tires lar... cause the beads are designed to hold the tire under pressure without popping off the rim hooks...and this is very apparent because every tubeless users complain about how hard it is to get the tires onto a rim if they ever have to install a tubeless tire...

i just use tyre lever. lazy to push using bare hands
