QUOTE(mrjgx @ Nov 12 2013, 10:38 AM) off the bike for months, yesterday went ride with the uncles..had to grasp for air..my HR all in z4 already just to maintain 30-35kmh. now the problem is..why people want to go really really fast on the flat? there's no enjoyment in riding so fast on the flat fast flat or slow climb; why need to suffer at all?i prefer long slow climb up a very long and steep hills...suffering. take it ez and enjoy the ride. |

but of course, now 35kmh is the new 30
a few months back, i followed a group ride on a 100km flat route, with occasional rolling. they were pulling 34-37. damn. sure, with effort can keep up, but having to focus 100% on the pace and group dynamics, whilst heart rate hovering at 80+%, not really my idea of fun la. |

QUOTE(mrjgx @ Nov 12 2013, 11:57 AM) In my case, the courier is DHL, if kena tax they will pay first and will call u about the tax. When they deliver to you they will give you the tax receipt for you to pay, only then he will handed over your items. that's normal la. what we mean is, tax on recipient's side borne and absorbed by the seller. unheard ofThat's good because it saves me the hassle of going to airport to pay tax. If there are any courier service that will pay tax for you let me know..hehe This post has been edited by miaopurr: Nov 12 2013, 11:59 AM |

QUOTE(butthead @ Nov 12 2013, 12:12 PM) actually.. their stuff is expensive to begin with... really aaa? i was looking at schwalbe's UST tyre. not available here, so need to buy it online. so far, that's the cheapest. free shipping, no tax.without the sale.. dun even need to think about their stuff... no lar... they will ask u first before they go hijack it out of customs... they also dun wan to end up in no man's land mar.. .only when you give them the nod only will they go and clear customs one... and nowadays... customs damn pandai.. they won't look at the declared value of the shipping consignment already.. they will instead get you to fax or mail them a legitimate invoice from the source so they can determine the value of the items to tax... so, the process to clear customs takes longer now... like that no escaping customs la |

QUOTE(berzerk @ Nov 12 2013, 12:25 PM) the light would only be to see the road surface in front, not to highlight my presence to opposing road traffic. actually, to be able to see the road surface is more demanding than to highlight ur presence. for example, a tiny blinker can be seen hundreds of meters away. but can it provide enough lighting to see road surface 5 meters away? This post has been edited by miaopurr: Nov 12 2013, 12:36 PM |

QUOTE(berzerk @ Nov 12 2013, 12:25 PM) Hi there. Has anyone ever tried using solar headlights for night riding? btw, if u read that page, it says the light is a safety light. not headlight.E.g. this from Cateye https://www.cateye.com/en/products/detail/S...210-F/moreinfo/ Would the light be bright enough to see 5 meters in from on night/early morning rides on Kesas moto lane? I.e. the light would only be to see the road surface in front, not to highlight my presence to opposing road traffic. so it's good enough as to-be-seen light only This post has been edited by miaopurr: Nov 12 2013, 12:55 PM |

QUOTE(berzerk @ Nov 12 2013, 12:57 PM) opps my bad. anyway the reason I asked is because my current front light (Cateye Jido i think) is bright enough but uses 4 AA batteries & weighs like a small brick. if it's solar type, it won't be bright enough. there was a cateye solar headlight, and it was not even as bright as a 1xAA battery headlight. that solar headlight was the dimmest of the entire range, and cateye grouped it under to-be-seen type.I was thinking of getting a solar powered headlight that would be "bright enough" but require less maintenance (recharging, change battery). |
