i am using biostar tforce 965pt
i dun think the bios giving me option to change it wor...

I believe ur mobo got this kind of features, mayb thr are hidden features inside the bios? Like mine, if i press Ctrl + F1 inside the bios, thr will be a RAM timing configuration appear on the list. smile.gif

I saw those Team Value RAM at C-zone... all of them are D9Gxx by looking at the chips. Should be quite good value. It's like... RM135/GB
*
Ooo, micron D9 chipset... how many left? Too bad, i not able go to low yat these few days, willing to get 1... possible to be D9GMH?? hmm.gif

D9Dxx are the rectangular ones
D9Gxx are squares brows.gif (but make sure it has a big brown dot, smaller dots are most probably Elpida or Aeneon)
*
big brown dot?
what is the different btw the big 1 and the smaller 1? Got any picture to show? blush.gif

DDR2 with 2.2V is actually much safer if got active cooling on it.
*
no doubt bout that... RAM safer if can get cooler...

Didn't had much time yest nite to test it. gonna whack it to 2.4v for some trial run this weekend. After some playing around, it wont boot @ 5-5-5-15, probably i guess the lowest it would go is 5-6-6-15. Who knows, will update by then.

Yeap it's not a gd idea >2.2v, unless for a short time of benching. 2.2v is da limit for 24/7.
*
ya, really not a good idea to tweak > 2.2v, later warranty void even it is lifetime warranty...

btw, i tested my 2 x 1GB KVR with FP-Y5 chipset previously, can go 860MHz with 2.0v, but haven't test the stability. Haiz... no time... sad.gif

2. vdmim v1.95 will damage my ram or reduce my ram life ?
*
dun be worry, 1.95v still consider very safe for ur RAM... smile.gif

i ran 2 superPI.. faster result if anything not stable..
orthos sometimes must wait 5 minutes to catch errors..
*
but even u able to pass the superPI test, when u run orthos, sometimes there will be error as well... hmm.gif

to me, 24 hours orthos should justified the stability of the system at that particular.
I don't believe few minutes SuperPI equal to 24 hours orthos torturing test.
By then, can consider OCCT as well.
*
24 hours is too long for me tongue.gif , normally i just run orthos for around 8-9 hours then i consider it is stable already...
ya, OCCT is quite good for the stability testing, at least its layout look nicer than orthos. blush.gif

lousier d9 667mhz can stable on 800mhz or higher ?
*
As from the previous cases, many lyn ppl able to OC their team value RAM which is lousy D9 chip.
but different batch, different result u will get... doesn't guarantee that u can stable at 800MHz.

How to determine the lowest possible timing for my RAM?.. Corsair XMS2 6400 800Mhz currently running at 4-4-4-12 @667MHz.. To get 1:1 DRam:FSB Ratio...
*
try it one by one, different RAM give different result... nobody can guarantee how far u can go... smile.gif

Just get myself a pair of D9GMH. So far, I OCed it till 900MHz, 5-5-5-15, 2.0v. But once i tweak the timing to 4-4-4-12, it boot up but hang at the bios screen there(so, i not able to get into window). Anyone know why? Do I need to push up vdimm again? wink.gif

get memset 3.4 beta1

btw, what mobo are u using?
*
will give a try to memtest then, thanks! smile.gif

QUOTE(kmarc @ Oct 14 2007, 04:57 PM)
Crucial ballistix rams (with D9GMH) are warrantied up to 2.2v. Even their reference vdimm is 2.2v. I'm not too sure about value rams though but I think their vdimm can to increase to 2.2v without any problems.

Make sure you have ram air coolers to keep the ram modules cool.....
*
I think all the RAM will still under warranty as long as the vdimm is under 2.2v... btw, i just planning to get a pair of RAM heatsink (around RM20) to cool down my RAM only, not going to those high end heat sink... blush.gif

correction..memtest n memset is different software..
make sure u know what it is..

dont talk about warranty, as long is not damage u can still claiming.. once it burn becoz of the oc.. prepare ur money la..

Added on October 14, 2007, 11:37 pm

make sure u know ur ram very well..
dont suka2 change ur ram timing like tat.. when u change ur ram timing from loosen to tight.. u need to make sure voltage is enuff..

if u doesnt know well ur ram, i suggest to set it from earlier, and do step by step, fail to do so will make ur window cant boot at all..

2.1v without cooling, consider safe.. more than that put ram cooling onto it, experiment urself , no one can help u..

timing 5-5-5-15 with 2.0, sure still can handle..
timing 4-4-4-12 u need to pump more..

using memset just help u to save time to do the correction to get fast in superpi,
but the point is know the right voltage for it..
*
ya, i know the different between memtest and memset.. thanks for remind. laugh.gif

I think i know what is the problem, because of using window vista now, sometimes when I OC my computer, it can't boot into vista, but able to go into XP...
sometime orthos stable at xp, but failed at vista... sad.gif

Then what chips are on Team value ram newest batch? because there is someone selling team value ram and claim that there is micron chips on it.

I think that is team group relabeled chip instead of micro chip... hmm.gif
