do we need to backup after rooting? is it crucial?

Z Ultra don't have double tap to wake up. Sony only do it under Tablet Z.

What are "invalid numbers"? I cannot seem to simulate the problem...

help! i'm planning to root my z1, but i can't seems to find the "USB debugging" option. can't even find the developer option in settings.

Is there any settings for video viewing?
Mine looks grainy on YouTube even I watch the 1080p.
But strangely the smurf trailer built in looked amazingly clear.

that the exact 1st question i wanted to ask, my 1080p video looks like 480p video in Z1 but was perfectly sharp and fine in my other 2 phone. even n a QhD moto Razr.

Seem like X-reality is the culprit for the grainy video...

when i turn off, the video is very sharp and fine.

When x-reality on, the process try to enhance the contrast, so when the object is small in the video, the edge(lines) seem to be blur, not sharp. but when display large object, it is fine.

X-reality give a more "3d" feel due to the better contrast~~~~

My phone seems to have some problems

I have just reset it takes very long to boot up
up and now the standby mode back light wouldn't turn off. And brightness adjustment is not working

Finally bought the Z1 today, purple set at Sony Centre, Plaza Merdeka, Kuching. My first impressions:

- OMG what a beauty! all of these internet review & stock photo never do this phone justice! it has to be seen by real naked eyes & physically hold the unit to appreciated it!
- it doesn't weight as heavy as i though, evenly distributed among the size, using the keyboard to sms is a lot better now on 5inch screen coming from the Ray, in fact it still cant be hold comfortably in 1 hand for daily operations.
- wish camera & power button could be bigger.
- music playback with internal speaker not as loud as ZR even though ZR is much higher waterproof rating...sound quality better than Tablet Z (based on my recent Sony gadget purchased). i believe ring/call sound is satisfactory.
- decent camera only feel warm quite fast after few shots.
- NO yellow tint detected! screen is normal with a little on the warmer side just like Tablet Z quality. easy on the eyes.
- washout display? i dont think it's that much of a problem anyway....too exaggerated by some people. i dont know if they always look at their phone tilted at 10-15 degrees angle. whatever floats your boat...

what's next?
- after i got connected there's an update already LOL but i dont do it yet, still taking my time to read the 1st page on what should i do.
- root the phone!
- this would be my 2nd phone for whatsapp & facebook on the go as i plan to get Maxis sim for it. currently using it wireless.
- act as camera first, phone later

Sony, truly making me believe again
I got a big box with dock bundled. other offers are 8GB memory card, back cover & lousy front sp, bought the Sony powerbank 3500mah for 89 PWP. Asked whether cradle for Tablet Z is in stock but seems like the product never existed....c'mon i've been waiting for months!

ISO 400-800 will be good enough if lighting on stage is good.
If shoot fast moving action (like dancing jumping) need pump more ISO

nope, juz installed some apps and games only

I would rather see they compare it ISO to ISO instead just let it auto and let the camera do the job 

i lazy read adi once i see they use superior auto on Z1 but Pro Camera on Lumia 1020 
Seriously whoever got Note 3 and Lumia 1020 come we go out and do test shot to compare

And that device comes in second, it's the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The phablet was a very adequate still shooter, but it's the video recording that makes it stand out from the crowd. Narrow field of view aside, with 2160p recording, high quality 1080p @ 60fps and video zoom that's almost as impressive as that of the Lumia, the Note 3 video skills are very hard to match.

It's low-light shooting abilities - for both photos and videos - leave a lot to be desired, but the pretty strong flash partially makes up for that. And we mustn't also forget the excellent panorama and HDR, plus a long list of fun features that help you spice up your photos.

The Sony Xperia Z1 does beat the Galaxy Note 3 in daylight photography and its videos were very good too. However, low-light results left something to be desired and the value-added features aren't on the level of the Note 3. Also, with a 20.7MP sensor and the same Snapdragon 800 chipset, the Z1 could have had a video zoom feature even more impressive than the Note's. Or at least a great panorama - Sony's work isn't done here.

Never tried it. What kind of concert? I would try these Scene settings in this order:

1) Night Portrait
2) Handheld Twilight
3) Party
4) Fireworks

Don't think I'll be attending any concerts soon, so hope you can come back and share with us which one works best 

One part Note 3 lost until no place to stand when compare with Z1 is night time shot. That part confirm Z1 win strong strong.
