Not everyone will agree. But it is. Z1 panel is not that washed out compare with Z as Z is even worst using TN panel.

If you want perfect screen and more critical on screen panel like myself, in future source for phone using following panels:


  • IPS LCD - LG, Asus, Lenovo, XiaoMi and etc. Most brand in market use this panel for high end phone.

  • SLCD3 - HTC

  • AMOLED - Samsung, Nokia, Motorola

Sony is not constant in screen panel quality, some is TN, some is VA, some is IPS.

TN & VA is not a good panel.

i thought the washout will only show itself when you tilt the phone at an angle ?

since he say the game is washed out, i don't think that is the case. unless he purposely go tilt the phone when he is playing

anybody noticed the call speaker is very loud and crystal clear ? it's probably one of the best i ever had compared to my previous phones

i noticed there's very few mod discussion for our phone. things are starting to get interesting at XDA

maybe it's because unlocking the bootloader will kill the camera


there's doom kernel, now at v3. the dev claim that he is working on double tap to wake feature, which will be implemented in future releases

you got big/fat fingers ?

the camera shutter button is supposed to be that way, it's 2 step. 1st press to focus, and the 2nd press (press harder) is to capture

because i have normal finger and using the button im totally fine with it, but i realize those who have bigger fingers will probably have some problems with it

saw some feedbacks from users who had updated to the new firmware at other forum

it seems the optimised backlight option is gone from the settings, and its permanently activated
