nope. no use. see that it is just pieces of foam cut into shapes to fill the spaces. heat and sound still goes through.

mine is done in a whole piece of fire retardant fabric. covers the whole bonnet. eliminates sound and heat proof.

Actually the engine sound mostly penetrate through the firewall and side fender, at bonnet sound absorbing is most important since the bonnet area is large, good sound absorbing means less engine noise echo and less sound can be heard in cabin.

If just 'sound proof', means the sound is reflex and not absorbed, then the engine noise will just reflex inside the engine bay and make it more louder.

I just tap the + wire for the light because when we switch on light the defogger switch will light up also defogger still can be use because it's using different pin. For lightning it's the bottom row 1st and 2nd pin from left when viewing the unplug socket.

1st pin is ground 2nd pin is positive. The last pin on right on the bottom row is also ground that one is for the defogger one. Also can be used.
