anyone still using cwm recovery here?

after few days using twrp, i feel cwm totally crap and old.

twrp is a must try, very convenient and well made.
*
Both are ok, some of my fren cwm while some prefer twrp.

Just use which are ok with you.

But twrp have less steps vs cwm n twrp has been reported have issue by some of xda users

cyandelta is an app, similar to cm updater.

cm updater downloads the entire rom, almost 200MB, and it auto goes into recovery and help you update and reboot when it's done.

cyandelta downloads that stuff that change instead of the entire nightly, about 20MB only, goes into recovery, update itself and reboot.
much faster and easier.
you sure or not? twrp totally pownes cwm.
in cwm, if wana flash temasek rom,

choose format system,
need choose rom, flash and wait, sweat.gif
choose gapps, flash and wait, sweat.gif
choose kernel, flash and wait, sweat.gif
choose supersu, flash and wait. sweat.gif
go wipe cache wipe dalvic, wait
choose reboot

in twrp, just tap swipe button at main menu and swipe to format system
then tap install, put everything you wana flash in a queue (max 10 item)
flash and wait (only 1 thing to wait)
once finish, got option to wipe cache and dalvic auto appear
next appear button to reboot system. tap to reboot

in twrp, less choosing and finding buttons, all appear when you need them
i dont ever see myself going back to cwm at all. icon_rolleyes.gif

Nice, since i dun use aroma based or related installer. I might try it.

Goo app didn't work.
I used this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...n.recoverytools

The one from data base is not that new.
I download the latest from twrp website.
2.6.3 if not mistaken. The one from app is 2.6.0

Then use the app select the file I downloaded and flash.
*
used 2.6.1, afaik 2.6.3 got bug or something.

my co-worker having similar issue as below,

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2456294

QUOTE
As you'll see all over the T989 forums, people have been having lots of trouble with TWRP 2.6.3. TWRP 2.6.1.0 is recommended by most. I wiped and flashed Slimbean 4.3 without any issues using TWRP 2.6.1.0.

but that thread is a t-mobile user, means a US variant.

so far i used no issue. i made a thread asking about twrp,
forumers there reply say twrp is reliable, benny say use for many years no issue.

anyway, take a rish at it la, twrp is much nicer to use than cwm.
*
already download but too busy to flash it..

good for you, but few of my fren having some issue. I guess they buy the phone when they are oversea lol sweat.gif

i did not recomend my friends looking for nexus 5.

because the battery life is not good. (at least its not an all day phone)
especially those note 2 users sure cannot accept the sudden drop in battery life

my relative wana give me s4, it sounds tempting, but i reject it in the end.
after much consideration, those extra feature not worth the drop in battery life.
currently my s3 with 3000mAh battery can last me all day, morning till night with heavy usage.

i dont want to go back to a time where i MUST charge my phone in the evening,
or always worry about battery life.
i always wanted to go for a nexus phone. my biggest complain last time is camera and storage.
nexus 5 fix this with good camera and have 32gb.
but now i have new craving, i wan all day battery life phone also. sweat.gif

+1

thanks for your detailed reply!  thumbup.gif

All kitkat ROMs have camera problem that can be fixed by flashing that CM10.2 fix? Does that mean that even if I use a 3rd party app from Play Store (Snap Camera HDR), it will still have problems if I don't flash the 10.2 fix?
*
Kit kat rom for s3 still in beta mode which in some cases u might encounter other error. Can refer to related xda kit kat forum

I was just about to ask you if there was any bugs on kitkat temasek ROMĀ   notworthy.gif

I have a few questions if you don't mind me askingĀ  sweat.gif

1. So basically the camera problem is gone so far after you flashed the 10.2 camera fix?
I agree that Snap Camera HDR animation isn't smooth, but I use it because of all the functions brows.gif

2. Referring to the bluetooth problem, is it only for when pairing up with speakers/car audio system got problem?
Is there any problem when it comes to bluetooth file transfer to other phones?

3. Battery life has been decent for you right?
*
for item no 3. Depend on what are you doing aka subjective.

But I do notice that (using 4.3 or 4.4 rom) if I am using fb/twitter official and chrome apps, battery usage will be higher doh.gif

but no different when I was using 4.1.2 samsung xperiarom doh.gif

imo backup/flashing doesn't utilize higher battery usage compare to that.

1. i just flash the fix this morning, based on my stress test on the camera, i no longer can force it to canot connect to camera. need more time to see whether it will still happen or not.

2. file transfer works fine, no issues. i send many files and it works.

3. battery life is awesome with my extended battery. so i duno got difference or not between 4.4 and 4.3
*
3. kit kat use a bit higher vs 4.3 , but since we using extended battery, we hardly notice it laugh.gif

min 5 hours of sot for both 4.3 and 4.4
