samsung sells extended batteries??? if so, how much do they cost?

Guys. Want to ask something. My power button got problem. Somehow it shorted ? Meaning i need to press it repetitively then my phone can turn on. Else it stuck in bootloop.

Not just stuck in bootloop problem. I can't access RECOVERY MODE nor DOWNLOAD MODE because my power button got problem. It keeps making my phone restart for like infinity times.

I even pulled out batt for whole night and next day try put in back. But still same problem occurred. If got luck then it will manage to enter DOWNLOAD MODE for ONE time only. Then back to bootloop.

Went to Samsung for quotation. Have to replace motherboard because my power button comes together with the motherboard. DAYUMMMMM.....

So what i want to know is that. Does Samsung gives u 1 year warranty coverage for motherboard after done replacement..??

I got quote RM648.30 for the motherboard.

Just to share some small bugs from official 4.3 ..

1. Multi function like widgets and windows will be disabled if you choose to use Easy Home screen mode.
2. You phone will go haywire if your battery lower than 15% and required to factory reset..
3. Sometimes when pressing icon you need to press few times.

Overall still good.

cell standby and device idle is highest in battery usage after screen.
you barely use your phone also for browsing, fb-ing, gaming.

obviously you get 4-4.5 SOT, which imo is the max limit for s3.

i think in 4.3 it dont show browsing fb-ing and etc...
till now im using fb still not showing in the battery stat..
i don't know what happen...

non of your apps appear in battery usage?
it is not 4.3 fault. usually kernel based on siyah will have this. you using custom kernel?

i very dont like that kind of kernel because i wont know which app use how much juice

Xplodwild has totally left CM and is working on OMNI ROM, as is Entropy and others, Codeworkx is busy with real life and also not really Samsung friendly anymore (very understandable if you ask me).

So no, there is no active device maintainer as such, but I'm happy to be corrected here.

Nightlies are auto-generated and may include general ROM side patches (maybe, not been following), but kernel-side you won't see much happening.

New mali r3p2 sources have been out since novembre 5th or so, and they are still not merged... what does that tell you ?


Someone tried to push them. Problem: they break compatibility for some devices that omni luckily doesnt support, should be solveable via excluding certain devices in the mali build etc.

That's the point, it will take ages if there's noone pushing to get things through, in other words, a device maintaner.

Though I doubt it will be easy to find any free soul willing to do this in his free time as a hobby and community project, due to Samsung's not helping, and CM gone corporate...

So I'd rather be looking on the OMNI side of things for the i9300.

CM should be (and likely are) focusing their efforts on OPPO devices, their only (real life and paying) customer currently.

But again, I'm glad to be proven wrong on this oppinion of mine...
