There were some long tables in that SB before the renovation (weeks ago), not sure if they are still there, if yes then that will be great, again I'm pretty sure 016 can confirm that as he is the VVIP at the kopitiam.

i now want custom boards that lets ppl open up switches without desoldering
*
thats the thing.

metal back plate keyboards have better sturdiness when typing, and no risk even when typing hard. Very little chance to break the pcb, seeing as it's hidden behind the plate. (but i still wouldn't toss the keyboard around or use a hammer lol...).

Easier to clean too, as the dirt doesn't get stuck to the pcb hidden behind.

The con however is that if you want to switch out the switches, you need to desolder..... it's not hard, but not everyone is comfortable with doing that, as it takes practise to learn to do it properly. Doing it incorrectly is a bad thing tongue.gif

The non metal backplate keyboards, has the printed pcbs exposed under the keys. The biggest pro is, you can switch out the switches without desoldering. But.... the cons is .... less sturdy when typing ...... and i don't think it's a good idea getting the pcb borard dirty from usage :/

another difference people mentioning is typing on these 2 types. Some like on over the other, matter of preference. As for me i prefer hardened aluminium backplate. Aluminium cause it's light metalic component tongue.gif I don't like too heavy a keyboard.

i sympathize. I too am a victim of smokers. It's one thing when they want to install cancer for themselves, but when they get other people involved, thats crossing the line laugh.gif One day the world will be like that movie Ultraviolet(2006) if it hasn't already happened in China kek.

Lol i sure lose this sort of competition laugh.gif Yeah i know there is the proper way of typing in QWERTY form, dvorak, colemak etc..... but honestly, i've been typing with just 2 fingers as i've always done. It's probably not the most effective method for fast typing, but it works for me. And i don't even have to look at the keyboard because of muscle memory smile.gif

if I am not mistaken, 10 drinks for 1 free drink at starbucks, so if we order more than 10 drinks, we can get 8-9% discount on 1 drink smile.gif

It's pretty pointless to give soldering crash course without actually turning it on.
You'd have a better chance learning it off a youtube video in that way.
