i have this casing although currently not using it anymore.. i just take a look at it and i think u can remove the fan by removing the front panel.. i mean the whole front cover for the case. remove it and then remove the inner side so u can take out the fan..

the front panel of the casing is easy to remove...they dun even have any screw....just 6 clips....look carefully..its easy to spot....
just a short note... u cant completely detach the front panel as there is a connector that connected with the cables to the usb, power button and stuff |

U might have problem installing the fan after tk off the front panel.
The screws r not a general one, u need a 120mm fan with BIGGER screw hole so tat the screws can get in. |

Hi,
I had recently constructed my new gaming rig after getting angry with my old system (1.8 AMD + 6600GT). Yeah... Just imagine have to play game with lowest setting and still always lagging (some time one or two second a frame!!! Anyway, now my new system finally satisfied my need... Where it is silent and "lagging issue" is no longer a problem even I am using highest graphic setting. Yeah... Now playing campaign 13 in C&C3 and not a single frame is lagging!!! Now... I have one problem. I turn on my PC 24 hours for bittorent and at night in my bedroom, that stupid over-bright LED (HDD + POWER) is really disturbing. HDD LED consistencely bright up the bottom of my room, maybe still ok. The worst case is the HDD LED where it always blinking (expected as I am downloading...) and it make my room like watching movie in the dark... flashing here and there. So is there any simple and easy solutions to this stupid bright LED problem? Here is few that I can think of... but cannot decide yet... (1) Disconnect both HDD and Power LED light. But I think I need to know the status... (2) Buy something like 5.25" bay display where the HDD and Power status is display there rather than the casing LED. Any recommendation? (3) Go to Jalan Pasar and buy some normal LED, then replace the LED??? Can it really be done? Thanks for reading. If any of you guys has good suggestion and ideals to share. Please do... |

its ok larr..
but i always leave one molex outside accessible incase want to test something like fan etc... real case is on blue light... not led.. h that one really geng.. the whole case like lit up.. need to do a bit of rewiring since it was done for sli and now running single card.. so got two pcie not being used.. leceh to take pics.. but will be doing it soon to complete the HR03 plus article. did this photo just because a friend of mine didnt beleive that this case is really that good... took only 2 hours to set it up which half an hour was spend measuring the wire lengths. my only cons.. theres not enough inflow front front fan... hence used the cooler master crossflow fan to have more airflow around the mobo This post has been edited by cstkl1: Sep 30 2007, 02:50 PM |

Nice work on the rig cstkl1. Overall the Mercury offers easy installation of a WC system within a casing. Good for anyone wanting to try it out.
I agree with you that the case does give some prob on the front intake. All Gigabyte cases has the same issues i suppose since my poseidon, my bro's 3D Aurora both has similar prob with front intake. I had to fit another fan after the HDD cage to get better airflow. |

TOTALL RECOMMENDED... |

Yes it has built-in WC kit already. Just plug and play style.
I do agree with cstkl1 that for that price tag it is quite a decent pricing, considering if u pair Gigabyte's own WC system that costs near RM 600 with another of its casing with similar pricetag, u can actually get this rig to try out the simplicity and purpose of WC. |

both cases are definitely worth of RM1000 ++, but personally I'd rather like a Silverstone TJ-07 than this gigabyte case, it's not because I am owning Tj-07, But from point of my view, Tj-07 has a better quality of the interior aspect..
this gigabyte case is still nice though... |

Same here but guys at SS League prefers TJ-07 ... and why are we talking about SS solely in Giga thread...
hahhah ...the mecury case is nice as well apart from the intergrated wc kit that most enthusiast would find it not up to expetaction ... |

Anyway, the mercury is for anyone who's into WC their system. Simple easy to use actually. Not for adventurous modders. |

TJ 10 i dun like the open half way door, if the door open all the way down very nice..............
but serious i was hoping TJ 10 to have dual 120mm rear exhaust for mounting Rads........ but haha too much for SS i think edited: sorry for the sway from topic already........... btw back to topic actaully how powerful is the pump on the mercury? there is a few more tap for additonal loops rite, just wander how much it can support This post has been edited by LExus65: Oct 3 2007, 08:34 AM |

@hian
Nice case, really a good selection and it has lots of potential to accommodate more stuffs ... @Bigblock after the case being mod BTX style, the PSU is at bottom or top ? @justin78 Go to Gigabyte website and look through case section ... you should find your answer there. |

Just noticed that modernopc.com is selling at RM640. Still worth the money, I think, a better case for a better system. Would be excellent if it come with top exhaust fan.
After some observation, max CPU idle temperature is at around 38c during day time in my non air-cond room (Q6600 OC @ 3.3 with 1.42V), which I reckon is pretty good enough. |

actually the radiator are hang by screw & bolts... just the thick fan and radiator grill that are zip tied... if u see carefully, u will notice the radiator are hang by 4 u-shaped steel + screws... we found out that we lack of long screws to secure the 35mm thick fan, so spirit of demon juz tighten it up with zip ties... its a stable built in my opinion...

Gion, u gigabyte supporter? noticed your PSU and GC also gigabyte..
btw, I'm getting a 3D Aurora today, later in the evening too couldn't find it in entire lowyat over the weekend coz all also no stock. in the end ask cycom to get from supplier for me, so tonight gonna collect it hehe wanted 3d aurora 570 but the price i could get was rm599... now getting the 3d aurora cost rm440 Added on May 13, 2008, 10:17 amone more thing want to ask, does placing the PSU at bottom gives any advantage? QUOTE(Bigblock @ May 14 2008, 03:45 AM) You cant place the PSU at the bottom bro because 3D Aurora and an aurora 570 are std ATX casing. Unless you modd them can place below. sodeska...Mine is below. As far as i know placing your PSU top or bottom dun make any diff. The hottest parts in you rig are the GC and CPU no wonder last night when fitting my components in, i was inspecting closely at the sides and edges but it seems they cant be taken off to make it like yours. mine came with a side panel going to take some pics and post hehe i felt that the air flow for all the fans, especially the front intake is very low. could hardly feel the air coming in... any recommendations if i want to change the fans to a silent but yet high air flow fan? best if the fans still have the LEDs the size is the same as the 3d aurora 570 isnt it? |

QUOTE(dARKaNGEl @ May 14 2008, 08:01 AM) sodeska... Well maybe the stuff u look at are the rivets..u remove them the whole case comes apart piece by piece...U havta drill it out leh..no wonder last night when fitting my components in, i was inspecting closely at the sides and edges but it seems they cant be taken off to make it like yours. mine came with a side panel going to take some pics and post hehe i felt that the air flow for all the fans, especially the front intake is very low. could hardly feel the air coming in... any recommendations if i want to change the fans to a silent but yet high air flow fan? best if the fans still have the LEDs the size is the same as the 3d aurora 570 isnt it? These giga fan rpm i think bout 800rpm or less...its better having no fan at all.I changed my front intake fan to thermaltake which gives me 1400rpm yet silent, rear using evercool allu tht gives me 2200rpm yet to buy another one more..hehehe!!! Those giga fans just bling bling nie no use at all. Well u can alwaz use high flow fans and connect them to a fan controller, when ure irritated with the sound you can reduce the voltage to the fan thus slowing it down. I think the 570 is slightly bigger, you can alwaz check the dimensions on gigabyte website Vizo 120mm fans are good start BUT the front intage fans is a challenge for u to change, open your front main bezel and look at the screws on the fan...you will notice how long it is.. Would love to see your picz too bro...so flood em in here Anyway this a night shot of my rig, sorry the pic is nt all tht clear.. ![]() This post has been edited by Bigblock: May 14 2008, 09:29 AM |

i saw in the garage sales got ppl selling this CM 120mm LED silent fan 19dBa producing 90cfm
http://www.coolermaster.com/products/produ...cate=36&id=4355 but unfortunately the seller said no stock, need to wait next shipment. rm33 for 1... meaning to replace all 3, need rm100 dont want to have fans producing loud noise anymore. last time my pc using delta, then thermaltake UFO, too noisy. so now want to have a powerful pc, but yet very silent |

QUOTE(syahirax @ May 22 2008, 06:31 PM) bro,how about making a 12cm fan on top and using radgrill like uglyvamp were selling.looks pretty nice with ur black casing 12cm??? 120mm bro...well tht's a good idea...for inverted ATX that will be a good airflow idea for the GC...U made me think also...lol The prob is time also...but no doubt tht is a good idea. How about your case? Instead of using black y dont you try chrome sprays...they are available also but i havent tried...tht's a good standout from other casing's... |

hi,
i'm the new owner of syahirax 3d aurora.. actually plan to get lian li, but dunno how end up buying this casing from him.. My first impression, this casing huge then, dismantle and wash it using dishwashing liquid.. if u notice the mobo tray, i try to polish it using Soft 99 cleaner and polish.. and it work..but just got no time to fully polish it..maybe when i'm free later.. Right now just cant wait to put in rig..cable management also not done properly yet.. For the front panel, polish it using baby oil(read somewhere),and the result: it feel clean, smooth and shiny.. here it is, now my 22" lcd looks small plan to get 2 evercool aluminium fan at back later, change that xigmatek fan with the new one, and some light coz cant see what inside (dunno yet, any recommendation?) is CCFL Twin Light Kit bright enuff? or SUNBEAM METEOR LIGHT? Hehe, took a picture or two of my 3D Aurora last night and wanted to upload, but dunno why couldn't access this page
Anyways, took the picture from my friendster page instead, hehehe. I initially wanted the Lian Li V1000 or Antec P180, but couldn't afford Cheers, Kinson Attached thumbnail(s) |

Same casing as everybody in this thread mah, since it's a 3D aurora thread
Mine is black. I'm not too fond of silver casings, heheh. But thats just preference only lah Maybe it looks big cause of the angle only, hehe This post has been edited by kinson77: Aug 26 2008, 02:48 PM |

I would go for Lian Li or Antec as my first choice. But there is a big price difference (for me). The V1000 or P180 is about RM600-700 I think. The Aurora was about RM400 for me...so it was 50-70% more, hehehe. A bit too much to spend on a casing for me

well,if youre looking for full alu casing,i guess better going for lian li instead but gigabyte have fairly reasonable price for its full tower casing.

Bought myself a aurora3d casing round august this year. Was pretty happy with it until i changed my GC. Now seriously thinking of selling of the casing coz it doesn't really allow for my GC to be moved in and out easily. The card barely fits into the case @@
