varialmctwist is the doom guy. Always forget his name so call him doom guy...

Anyways, Ive ordered some items for my shrimp tank:
Gona start this project in mid December like that.

1. 1x1x1ft tank.
2. LED Lights
3. ADA Amazonia soil from my planted tank mix with some new soil.
4. Sponge Filter
5. Marimo ball.
6. Java moss or something.
7. Cube Ceramix houses.
8. Am looking to try Orange Rilli Shrimp.

This is my checklist.
I guess I am missing some Bacter Bacter right?

Hi bros,

Thanks for the advice especially to Arrow & GTBlackIce.

-I don't really like RCS or Fire Red. So I plan to play some Rilli. I heard some people telling me that they were NeoCaridinia Hetroparta something something species and it is same family with RCS that's why I choose Rilli.

-Also, was wondering what family and how hard/easy it is to take care of Fire Yellow Shrimps or Golden counterparts.

-Finally, would those Borneoworld products like Crystal Bacter 1 2 3 4 for planted tank works in accumulating BB and Water Cycling in my future shrimp tank? Coz dun wana spend so much money, kinda on a tight budget atm.

Hi again Mr. Arrow.

Ya I have a whole set of BW products. I use it for my planted tank and I have extra. Am planning to use these for the shrimps coz its cost effective.

Also, I've read about your thread on shrimp supplement & food. It a very knowledgeable article and I've learn lots from it.

I am hoping to use some old ADA Amazonia soil and mix it with some new soil. After that, I would add some old tank water from my other tanks thus reducing the Cycle process and not to forget adding the BW supplements. <--- Will you think this would work?

Thanks for your wisdom bro.

Hi arrow,

Hmmm... what is plamata shrimp.
I Google it but they couldn't came up with any solid result.

Also, why is a juvenile shrimp better than a full grown adult?
Is it because a full grown adult is nearing its life cycle?

Thanks again bro smile.gif

Yea 500 should be enough.

But it might go higher on lower depending on what items your getting as I have calculated my budget.

If your on a tight budget you will have to use these items:
Basic aquarium normal non clear glass.
Some cheaper shrimps.
Use sand for substrate instead of shrimp soil or ADA soil.
Cheaper plants that they normally sell in LFS.
PVC Pipe as a ceramic house replacement.

If like this I think will cost you around 200 to 300 only.

Good luck.

Filer you can use sponge filter like my plan, only rm12.00 ++
Connect it to an air pump RM20.00++
Lighting use a cheaper one first those rm 20-30 ++
