Hey guys... Am interested with Preve LE. So it's CVT uses Suprima one? what's the improvement we can feel?

Today i just tried test drive CFE Preve, the shifting during acceleration feels good, but when u downshift, it feels like there's no engine braking for deceleration. is this normal?

The engine braking is said to be too strong on downhill.

so they disable it altogether? blink.gif

as a manual tranny user...i feel this is quite dangerous...what if u need to decelerate and brake quickly

it does come with engine braking.. dont worry about deceleration or braking as the braking force itself is quite decent even with stock braking system..

u think i shud wait for the 6-speed manual? (if ever come out) unsure.gif

i like cfe..i really do.jz the downshift feels bother me.it doesn't slow down fast enough like manual.u need to press harder on the brakes

Yeap this is ANCAP version with the 6 airbag~~
My installment is 700+ (for 9 years)~~
driven 1400+ KM to date..no rattling issue or interior ngek ngek so far~~and only some vibration sound of CVT  between 1700 to 2100 RPM~~and CVT whining sound above 3500 RPM~~

nope the ANCAP version is NOT VT3+ gearbox~~

Haha i think i will use the current RIM for the next one year or until 3rd change of tyre~~

sad.. sad.gif

As a side-note, when at the service centre today, I saw a service advisor driving a Proton Suprima S. When he stepped out of the vehicle, I approached him and asked him some questions on the Suprima S, since I was interested in the difference between the leather seats of it vs. the fabric seats in the Preve. My impression is the leather seats in the Suprima S will be more comfortable than the fabric seats in the Preve.

The answer I got from him turned out to be the opposite. He informed that his manager has driven both Suprima S and Preve on long journeys outstation. In long journeys outstation trips, the fabric seats of the Preve was said to be more comfortable than the leather seats of the Suprima S mainly because the fabric is softer. He mentioned his manager got slight backache in the Suprima S. Is the leather seat in the Suprima S that hard and more uncomfortable than the Preve?

On short journeys, no difference in comfort between the leather and fabric seats. Only in long journeys, the fabric seats is said to be more comfortable than the leather seats. Funny. If that is the case, the leather seats must be the hard type. The only good thing going for the leather seats, according to the service advisor, is it looks better than the fabric seats. That I agree, as the fabric seats look cheap in comparison to the leather. However, in comfort, the fabric seats are said to be more comfortable.

maybe needs to change to suede leather then better tongue.gif

Exec CVT will underpowered, and engine need to pull more power and thus more noisy engine.. but

in my opinion of driving both type of model, (1st batch CFE model and 6 airbag Exec CVT)
at low speed in heavy traffic jam both almost feel the same, not much different, i can say here exec cvt a little bit better, maybe the acceleration responsiveness.
but accelerating above 60kph, you can start feel the different between CFE and  Exec CVT (applicable for normal driving style), the CFE feel more relexing when pulling the car.
but accelerating 80kph and above, there is a wide margin between both of the car (applicable for normal driving style).
When highway driving at constant speed there is not much different (applicable for normal driving style)

but where is the function of actual CFE,
obviously when hill climb  naik genting..
and one other thing when you need something
the need for speed..  cool2.gif

I have been following this thread for the pass few weeks. I understand that CFE version may come with VT3+, EVP on top of the 6 air bags. This afternoon I went to a show room but the sales adviser seem know nothing about the VT3+ and EVP story. And he told me gearbox is same with the 4 air bags version and no EVP on CFE model...

Appreciate if any new sifu-sifu here or the 6 air bags CFE version owners can share and confirm. Thanks.
*
well i heard the current CFE Preve is ANCAP version with 6 airbags and EVP, but does not include VT3+
isn't that right vincent818?

i'll still confirm my order this year, as current car unreliable already... cry.gif

but i don't like suprima, so is okay lah even if got old gearbox. not sure its VT3, i thought preve CFE is VT2? hmm.gif

Many thanks to vincent818 for great service provided!

Take my car yesterday.

I've had a bit issue with bank earlier on, call vincent came to bank, straight away settled tongue.gif
The waiting time for bank to release and me getting my car is also short.
He also willing to wait long time for me to check every nooks and cranny of the car, and explain everything. very nice!

nice freebies too! thumbup.gif
keywords: ask and ye shall receive. brows.gif

i recommend anyone buying a car to go with him, he is very customer oriented, passionate and very helpful to you.

Anyway, quite satisfy with the car, nothing bothering me. just that i've experience the sound when braking just like others reported, and brakes feels loose and lagging. later i'll try contacting SC.

Feels a bit bland without R3 bodykit, later la post pic after applying the kit tongue.gif

Other than that:
1 - I know its written on the handbook that it will automatically shift down depending on your speed (even though u put it in "TRIP" (+/-) mode, is there any tweak can be done so that shifting down is also manual? unsure.gif

2 - no steering lock for push/start button Preve? hmm.gif i mean the one where u off the car and pull the steering until it locked. i can't find anything on the manual and i'm unable to lock the steering when turning the steering while everything's off. the steering is still freely move.

Congratulation...

It should be TIP mode according to the manual...i think it is a preset to protect the gearbox~~quite unlikely u can change that~~anyway..i found it quite useful man...even if u rev too kuat under tip mode..it will auto shift up for u also...try rev to >6000 RPM and u will see the auto shift~~

..dun understand what u mean on the 2nd point~~
*
pretty much like if we can shift down ourselves too...because i'm previously a manual tranny user, so i've somewhat develop a hunch what appropriate gears should be maintain or shift in what appropriate speed. when the preve took away downshifting from feels like : sad.gif

what i mean is on car that uses key, when you pull out your key, you turn your steering until got "click" sound and you steering is locked until you insert you key again

for CFE, when you pull out your key, turn until 270 degree too didn't produce any "click" sound nor locking your steering wheel. is it normal? unsure.gif

Guys where can get r3 bodykit? And how long it takes to apply it.
TQ
*
you can get it at proton r3 on kesas right?

Just notice something different in my Preve. Previously when I drove test drive Preve I stated that I don't feel engine braking while downshifting on to reduce speed, it feels gliding with the test drive unit.

But on my Preve I really feels the engine braking when you're going from fast to stop. just downshift and the car really slows down by the engine. awesome. just like normal manual tranny thumbup.gif

some say using titanium harmful for ur rotor, produce dust etc.

but use it on my old problematic car, i dont see any mentioned problems. i just very very attracted to the braking performance. can feel the safety, the distance and power

didn't notice that as of current (perhaps because car is new)
but i do notice the speaker is quite irritating. tongue.gif
on median level whenever song reach high peak the sound is "distorted" or what we say "pecah" doh.gif
itchy to change already. laugh.gif

not because of radio, yes i compare playing mp3 thru the usb, indeed the sound of mp3 better than FM radio, but still pecah in high pitch in median volume level. my old car stock speaker sound is better than that tongue.gif
