QUOTE(mengsuan @ Feb 17 2014, 11:32 AM) On demand should be right. Because if lets say I turned off the engine, the fan runs, then i restarted engine, move a little bit and shut down, fan does not spin after the second shut down. But on normal driving, it's quite definitely fan will turn on after driving for me I see. Thanks for the info.

QUOTE(budak minyak @ Feb 20 2014, 12:06 PM) Hi. Wanna ask about sound system in Preve? It comes with 6 speakers right? How's the sound quality? Is it good or biasa2 saja? Preve comes in 4 speakers. Suprima S comes in 4+2 speakers though, with 2 tweeters on A-pillar or dashboard I believe. Sound quality wise is dependable, they're rubbish if you're an audiophile but I find them to be acceptable although my previous ride Hyundai Matrix original 6 (4+2) speakers sounds better. By the way, I've reached 1000km today and going to service my car this coming Saturday, my average FC is 9.3l/100km with average speed at 33km/h (mostly city drive and heavy-traffic highway). Hope the FC will improve after service. This post has been edited by TitaniumZ: Feb 20 2014, 01:24 PM

QUOTE(budak minyak @ Feb 20 2014, 01:38 PM) Is it really only 4 speakers? The other day I went to visit Proton showroom, the dealer said the 2014 Preve comes with 6 speakers. Anyway I'm a fresh grad and just started working. So plan to buy this car as my first car. But still considering whether this car worth to buy or not. Compare Preve with Suprima, which car do u recommend me to buy if I'm more towards city driving, and maybe once a month or 2 will do the long distance driving back to my hometown. Well if Proton silently upgrade the spec (again) then I don't know, because all of our Preve here comes in 4 speakers. Preve CFE vs Suprima S Premium. If you do not want to mod/change anything, Suprima S comes with leather seat, front parking sensor, reverse cam + 7" LCD HU, 6 speakers, DRL, 17" alloy rims and hill hold assist in the price of a much smaller trunk boot space. More value than Preve on paper.

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Feb 20 2014, 01:46 PM) dammit! 9.3L/100km BEFORE first service?? you're doing a lot better than I am. mine was before service 10.5L/100km, after first service 10.2L/100km. i was hoping to get until 7.5L/100km then i'll be satisfied... Again, I'm driving in JB so the traffic here is less congested than KL. However, my colleague's CFE FC is pretty bad also, somewhere around 12L/100km but he's quite a heavy footer.

QUOTE(budak minyak @ Feb 20 2014, 02:29 PM) I see. So I think I will also buy Preve la then. Its cheaper and more fuel economy than Suprima I guess. What worries me is if let say I buy now, afraid later in few months Proton will comes out with the new/better variant of Preve. Do you know anything about that? I think its quite a drinker. Dont u think its quite a heavy FC? RM50 of fuel for 75km is expensive bro. Preve CFE w/6MT or maybe Preve R3 (true R3 but not cosmetic only) is coming if you are manual lover.

QUOTE(budak minyak @ Feb 20 2014, 02:31 PM) So your opinion is Suprima is a better buy compare to Preve? More bangs to our bucks? Well I was eyeing on Suprima S Premium before but no discount due to new model, end up with Preve CFE ANCAP due to discount price though.

QUOTE(Kr0ll3R @ Feb 20 2014, 02:35 PM) About the speakers, I'm not so sure but there're 2 output area, 1 being round & 1 small rectangular at each side. Probably that's why the SA counted as 6. like what Titaniumz said, if you're not an audiophile, sound quality is good. If you are talking about the small gutted holes on each side of the dashboard sitting close/next to A-pillar, they are the demister.

QUOTE(SothysSaleShop @ Feb 20 2014, 02:14 PM) pure city driving I notice Fuel gauge drop a bar every 35km, before 1k km service, normal? I find the first half of fuel gauge drops slower, normally drops four bars when my mileage clocks at 220~250km, and then it'll drop to the last bar i.e. 3-bar drops with another 100~120km. Giving me false hope of reaching 500km per tank when looking at the first half...

QUOTE(Kinitos @ Feb 20 2014, 11:00 PM) IF 10.4L/100km $50 RON95 Preve travelled ATLEAST 230km+- There might be other factors affecting the fc, for example if you set auto-climate under very hot day the air-con will work the hardest thus affecting the fc or when your engine is idling. I find it to set the air-con manually improve my fc a little bit.

done my 1000km service on last Saturday. They used fully syn Petronas Syntium 3000 SAE 5W-40, costs me RM219. By reading here it seems that the SC used expensive engine oil on my car. Luckily I was able to prevent the magnetrap trick. After the service the drive becomes noticeable smoother, and the jerking at low speed improves a lot too. FC wise need another few days to monitor.

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Feb 24 2014, 09:26 AM) where did u done your service? JB, the one next to Crystal Crown Hotel. I bought my car there so I go to its SC for the first service. I might go to Larkin SC next time due to their nice services when they attended my battery/wiring problem.

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Feb 27 2014, 06:45 AM) Yes if you buy Syntium EO, you'll get free gifts, subject to stock at the SC. I've got phone charger kit and a sling bag How come I didn't get any free gift? The SC even use the expensive Syntium 3000 5W-40 engine oil.

Syn3000 is fully syn, and although expensive, I can really feel significant improvement over before service. The drive is much smoother and the jerkiness at low speed is almost gone.
