Could anyone please shed some light on my question. Will IPv6 help reduce latency for gaming especially gaming server hosted in other countries?
Much appreciated.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Nov 6 2016, 11:57 PM) In general = No. Because latency is determined by routing (distance). Thank you for the detail technical explanation, much appreciated. Most of those gaming servers doesn't support IPv6 in first place. Example, Steam. Next, current IPv6 implementation has different routing than IPv4. Technically, IPv6 packet is 'shorter' and more efficient than IPv4, but it doesn't affect latency (only affect bandwidth by slight margin) |
