The D800, for all it's worth actually has one of the best ISO performances today if you downsample the res to match either 16MP or 12MP. It's just that working with raw files probably requires a mid to high end rig at least
Yup. Downsize and magic appears.
Anyway, you don't need the latest and greatest rig to process D800 files. I use a Q6600 quad core. I upgraded my memory to 8 GB and with a SSD bootdrive. That made a hell of a difference.

The D700 is the best I can afford to obtain the best of both worlds, the features of a flagship nikon as well as cleaner ISOs to shoot wedding receptions. Had I the budget, I probably would've went straight for a D800 like
Agito666 as well
LOL
Agito666 strike lottery. Different level.

nikon kit lens all up to ur luck la...most are lucky

even the first 18-70 kit lens from all those yrs ago still can find used ones in good working condition.
They don't use to make kit lenses like they do on the 18-70.

Nikon digging its own grave lol..
I'm sure the DF would be a lot more popular if its priced cheaper
I suppose it depends on the "theme" intended?
Some times I also don't know want to use natural colors or not haha

Hope the Df falls into the same fate as the V1. Wait for body prices to plumet.

Dude, for developing photos, especially RAW, Lightroom is really the best. Well, maybe not the best, but IMO it is better than Photoshop. One more thing not most people will agree, but I do feel that LR is more straightforward than PS.
Try downloading Lightroom 5 (Adobe is offering a 30-day trial period to test-run the software), and see if you like it.

If you're just converting NEF files with minor adjustments to exposure, the ViewNX2 is fine.
