My setup is prime lens only (35, 50, 85) so my apertures are large, I shoot with f1.4 to f2 only. I use SB700 with 1/8 power, zoom either at 24mm or 120mm (I think) depending on ceiling condition. High zoom for high ceiling. ISO1600 with shutter ranging from 1/100 to 1/200.

Looks like your lens didn't nail focus and your flash zoom too much.

Wow! Only with Price lens? Do u have second body to backup for group photo? with 35mm how u shoot "yam seng" photo?

Yes I shoot only with prime lens. I'm not the only photog, the main photog is using 16-35 2.8 and 50 1.4 biggrin.gif

Is this photo shoot with incandescent filter attached?

Mines cant get the WB like urs. Ixxit bcos of the filter?

No, I don't use filters. As far as I know its auto WB. And some are shot without flash, you can check the EXIF. I don't strip them.

QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Oct 31 2013, 03:07 PM)
Crux doesn't shoot with any flash filters attached, what you're looking at is Auto WB plus naked flash most of the time.
Even if the WB is off, since the photo is RAW it's a simple matter to correct as long as you know how.

Check the EXIF. Custom WB was used.
Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8
If you look carefully, there is a service manual for the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8.
The AF-S 80-200mm f/2.8 is the biggest version of the 80-200mm and 70-200mm. Heaviest weight, longest hood and biggest barrel. So handholding plus no VR is quite difficult. But image quality very similar to 70-200mm f/2.8.
At wide open f/2.8?
*
Strange. I don't remember using Custom WB. Unless changing the WB bias in the WB setting makes Auto WB into Custom WB?

EDIT: Just experimented. WB changed to Custom if you change the WB in post.

This is the original one without WB changes, the EXIF now shows Auto.

Like it.  nod.gif

If you're tripod, why don't you try focusing with Live View?
The new 16-35mm f/4 VR or the older 17-35mm f/2.8?
I check the EXIF again on the pic above and it says White Balance = As Shot but mentions Color Temperature = 2650.

My guess is that's what ACR interprets the WB colour temp.

EXIF
I believe what you see is mostly PPand in this case, the PP works. But that does not detract the fact that composition wise, it's quite good. rclxms.gif For my untrained eyes at least.

Forgot to mention its the Canon 16-35 2.8 laugh.gif

BTW, try to look at the White Balance under EXIF not XMP. Same link.

Did you accidentally switched your camera to timer mode? What exactly do you mean by take ages to capture 1 picture?

how do i know i switch to timer mode?
when i tried to capture 1 picture will fully press the button, then i will notice my view finder will become dark, then it take a while...then only got "click" sound

if i use compact camera, once i press the button, then the image will be capture

do i dun understand what actually is the problem
*
Meaning you're not in the timer mode.

That's the green auto you're in, the second row is the shooting mode, in this photo its in Timer mode.

I guess like the others said, your ISO is not dialed to Auto therefore it take ages to capture a photo. To change ISO, simply hold down your ISO button which should be located on the left of your LCD screen, and dial it up using your aperture/shutter control. You can look at your top LCD panel to see the changes in ISO.

Nice tone and feel. I like it.
There a figure of another cat under the car though, but it's too out of focus. If it's me, I would make the shadow completely dark. smile.gif

Yeah I thought of that too but but but I didn't do it in the end, thanks for the input icon_rolleyes.gif
