A Raynox, as suggested by bro copperwire93 is also a great choice it seems thumbup.gif Much cheaper than any dedicated macro lens/ auto extension tubes~
1/6 is very good already lo haha  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif Sometimes take 10, 10 also blur haha XD

When those ants sting you, also very "exciting" one yo haha  brows.gif  brows.gif

I'm afraid the bee sting than the ants. Also, get quite a lot bites from the mosquitoes. flex.gif

Learning abit about Focus Stacking these few days hmm.gif

Since Depth of Field (DOF) is often very shallow in macro shots. The technique basically involves taking multiple exposures focusing on different parts of the subject, then merging them together in post-processing. Can be used not only for macro too ~

Although not really that practical when out in the field, this technique has its uses, especially when produced as scientific material thumbup.gif

Nice composition. I see you leaned a bit for framing to get this shot? It works well. nod.gif

I'm being lazy today, so I took my time reviewing old photos and develop them.

QUOTE(sonyman @ Nov 25 2013, 08:36 AM)
i want to ask you guys. I have a 50mm 1.8, and a 18-105mm ,

i was thinking of getting a 70-300mm for a zoom outdoor, what do you think, or should i get rid of the 18-105 and get a 18-200?
*
I have the experience of using 18-200 though it's from Sigma, but later I found out even Nikkor 18-200mm have the same drawback that is sharpness though it handles CA better than Sigma. If you're okay with some sharpness downgrade and prefers all-in-one lens, than 18-200 would be good.

If it's me, I'll get 70-300mm instead.

Want to share this to you guys, a friend of mine shared this to me via fb. I thought it is great. Sorry if I'm slowpoke. tongue.gif

Also from this dude just using old Powershot A570 IS. His processing skill is powerful!.

Glad you like it! Shot this with 135 F2 and cropped nearer.

Your photos looks so sharp!

Always a fan for toning. I believe toning will add more life and feel in the photos.

Thanks, the first one was taken with 35mm prime. Really sharp one even at 100% zoom. Second is not so sharp, cheap lens. Haha! Already 'in bits and pixels' at 50-70% zoom. Zoom lens in addition.

Yep, removed them all the last time I used them =.=

btw, finally free enough to go out and try my 105 macro and raynox 250.. all i can say is, with raynox on, I cant even find the target. =.='' have to practice more
*
I'm not sure about the effect of Raynox with 105. 105 is a long macro lens, and Raynox is an adapter to help you gain the focus at close distance. Same case when I was using extension tube. Hence, I think you need to get your lens closer to your subject than normally you'll do with 105 alone.

If you ever find a rare and unknown species of insect, remember to retain the original colors ya (no split toning haha). It'll be much easier for ID~
