Yeah thats right. Even if you bought a 32GB SD card. Doesnt mean you will get 32GB flat too.

That's different case due to the 1024 byte calculations. You get a bit less but not as little as 25GB out of the advertised 32GB. Even HDD manufacturers ensure in a disclaimer on how they calculate the memory size.

In the case of Samsung, some people may wondering what happened to the 3GB as the memory shown on the phone is only 2.38GB. It does not show that the OS has taken up the rest of the memory.

Guys.. PPI is a physical property, as in number of physical pixels per inch. You don't need a software to count that. You just take 1080 pixel divided by the width of the screen in inches and you will get PPI.

Note 3 width is roughly 2.8 inches. 1080 pixels divided by 2.8 inches comes to about 385 pixels per inch. That is your PPI. It's just simple measurement.

Well , would u like to sue them for giving misleading info , either on the phone OR their announcement + review ?

PPI is not a misleading info. Anybody who can do division can give you the PPI as per my previous post. Furthermore, the 480 may not exactly represent the traditional PPI as they might be using other measurements for their so called LCD Density. Or.. it could just be a simple mistake.

I have this old friend of mine ( same age 58 as me) is computer illiterate n uses a iphone 4s. He finds using itunes too complicate n dont even understand what is syncing. I am his favorite genius bar guy who will help him out with his iphone difficulties. I have to help him even to copy songs over
when i asked why he buy such an expensive phone his answer was simple : for whatsapp n was told iphone is the best phone n money is not an issue at all

Benny, this does not only applies to your friends but kids too. They have over level 9000 on their candy crush but cry over lost contacts and pictures. When asked why didn't they save it on the cloud and I all I get back is ...

I would say KIES is the worst piece of all phone sync software I have ever used  ( vs Windows mobile, Symbian, BlaCKBERRY, IOS ) I highly DO NOT recommend to use it. It IS unreliable and very slow too. Samsung should changed the whole team behind this KIES software. Even my old Nokia PC Sync software thrashes it to oblivion.
Since you are using Google android phone, why don't you just use your Google ID to store and sync all your contacts. Anytime you change phone even to iphone or blackberry you can easily sync these contact and calendar stuffs. Google sync is So versatile and not to use it defeat purpose of using an Android phone
*
This is also unfortunate for people like me where my primary contacts are on my outlook which is sync to the phone which is then sync to the cloud. All management of contacts are done in my outlook as it is my main contact list (phone is secondary) and KIES is the worse that I have ever used since the day I started syncing my contacts with .. god forbid.. PDAs back in 1997. Still using the same contact list (cleaned, pruned and with multiple backups) since 1997 and haven't lost any since.

Guys, it is NOT necessary you must get original Samsung cable for this phone though many users always think original is the best. I have tested my USB 3.0 USB harddisk cable and one generic type I bought from ALLIT Lowyat ( only I dont quite like is default Blue color) and all works perfectly well charging and data transfer

Even the old USB 2.0 still works and most people still don't have USB 3 ports unless they are using pretty new notebooks/desktops. So the old USB 2 cables still works just fine.
