QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Oct 3 2013, 03:27 AM) hope I not slowpoke, has been not follow the thread today I rooted mine yesterday night using chainfire CFroothere is the chainfire cf auto root for most note 3 since it stated for N900x @@ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423 time to root buddy .... joytest I saw you didn't post in 1st page, so I should be not slowpoke *edit, saw somebody post at page 70+ something too bad the stupid knox annoying =_= I am not concerned about knox issues. For those concerned about warranty issues don't root. I am prepare to pay for any subsequent repair if necessary. So far have no isues on hardware as everything is fine n good. The moment i bought the phone i have been waiting for root from chainfire. Phone as usual is performing well without any issues Used Titanium n got rid of much of the bloatware For those new to this : rooting will never brick phone. The worst is a failed attempt. It is very safe process. Just make sure you have at least 50% battery charge just in case phone go into continual reboot This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 3 2013, 08:10 AM |

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 3 2013, 08:09 AM) As said phone is performing well as in its original state. Rooting itself will never give you any increased performance but with use of appropriate app you can have it n improved battery life. |

This is what happened after ROOT - note Binary and System status now changed to CUSTOM from Official and KNOX WARRANT change to 0X1 from 0X0
Before To root phone : 1. Install first USB phone drivers in PC : Just google in web for Samsung USB phone drivers - plenty of links 2. Download the CF Root file from XDA :Post # 3 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423 3. Copy this zip file to PC and EXtract the zip file in PC 4. From the folder you will see the Odin 1.85 .exe file and the CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar.md5 5. Switch off phone. Boot to download mode - simultaneously press HOME+VOL DOWN+POWER : than select volume UP - you will be in download mode ( screenshot similar to above except you see OFFICIAL n 0X0) 6. Connect phone to PC. Wait short while and allow the PC to detect phone - you will see installion progress , probably a half minute job 7. Once installation complete, move to the folder where you extracted the zip file 8. RUN Odin.exe 9. DON'T touch any of the default settings. Choose PDA and browse to folder where you extracted the CF Root.tar.md5 file - select it 10. Just press START 11. The root file will be flash and process will complete in less than half a minute 12. Phone will reboot and now is rooted This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 3 2013, 09:50 AM |

QUOTE(funnyman @ Oct 3 2013, 10:10 AM) Dear all, S translator comes default with the phone. tap on it to install the full program ( a 11MB download) . Look for it in one of the Samsung folders if you are still using TouchWizGood morning. Do you guys use S Translator? I read the manual and was printed that we could download it from samsung apps but after searching for the whole night, I don't seems to be able to find it, any suggestion and advise? I am in Taipei now and could not find the s view cover, the centre told that they might be getting them only end of the month, so seems like boleh land is getting priority this time, same goes to the Gear as well. Thanks for updating the info about the s pen updates. This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 3 2013, 10:19 AM |

QUOTE(funnyman @ Oct 3 2013, 10:15 AM) Do you guys meet up once in a while to learn from each other on the operating this note 3? I have 3 Sandisk 64GB Class 10 cards, 2 Sandisk 32 GB class 10 cards and now unused 1 32GB Kingston, 1 16 GB Apacer. I have used before other brands too - Adata, Kingmax, Team, Panasonic and had given these away with the phones/tablets I soldAbout memory card, here seems to have sony and sandisk, which is better and safer to buy? Thought of getting the 64GB. The very first Sandsk 64GB Class 10 - I have card corruption problem and had replaced it new twice ( once from shop Sri Computer at Lowyat and the other at the distributor at Amoda Plaza). The staff at Digital Vector told me Sandisk has lifetime warranty and there is NO limit on number of times one can replaced it. Just keep the original packaging with you and the purchase receipt. Apparently the initial lot of 64GB n 32GB class 10 has some of this corruption problems, Nowadays rarely heard of such issues SONY - never tried before and no idea about their warranty claims Was told and read too here that Samsung cards are not bad either but more expensive than SanDisk |

QUOTE(advgamer @ Oct 3 2013, 10:38 AM) Big jump for you. I am still keeping my E71 - already 4 years haven't touch it. Best symbian phone I have used and keeping it as no point selling it as no value. It will be one of the many old gadgets I have and still keeping - I still have my HP Jornada windows pocket PC, Sony Clie, Palm Tungsten , Treo and several other older palm OS devices, Windows Mobile gadgets too in my drawer. The E71 phone is still like new and I just love the feel of the keyboard which I deem better than my previous Blackberry Bold series. If you are used to E71 it is indeed a very much cooler phone in operation vs most of these days high end specs Android |

QUOTE(keeekeee @ Oct 3 2013, 11:00 AM) No not interested in such stuffs. Hate to wear stuffs on my hand - more than 15 years already never wear watch . Anyway is too expensive - I feel is not even worth RM 200 n Samsung had the guts to sell this small piece of electronics for RM 900+ as they are capitalising on its "uniqueness" ??? Only diehard fans will pay for it. Give me free also n I will just give it away for free tooAnd NOT impressed at all with the several videos showing it This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 3 2013, 11:11 AM |

QUOTE(joytest @ Oct 3 2013, 11:38 AM) Baru mari This reviewer is terribly wrong on this: I quote - The home button, unfortunately, does not work with S Pen. You still have to physically press it, which is much more frustrating than it needs to be. That seems like a pretty big oversight..... The S Pen does work very well with the Home buttonGalaxy Note 3 Deep-Dive Review: Still Making Every Other Big Phone Look Bad http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/10/02/ga...phone-look-bad/ |

QUOTE(KMercury @ Oct 3 2013, 02:47 PM) just one level unzip like normally i do with previous2 rooting samsung phones. Im familiar with rooting using ODIN as i've been rooting S2, S3, S4 and Note 2. Just that this is the first time i keep on receiving FAIL when try to root using ODIN. Last time i faced this kind of issue is when i tried to root my S4 using ODIN 3.07. But this is not the case as i already tried with all versions of ODIN Try with another USB port. Could be connectivity issue. I easily root at one go n even using an old HTC cable too. |

QUOTE(oldKyoo @ Oct 3 2013, 05:36 PM) Guys, quick question. Possible to use an iPad charger, specifically, the one on sale from Apple to charge the GN3? I have been faithfully using my ipad 2.1a charger to charge all my phones for past 5 years. I rarely used the supplied charger. And I have yet to experienced any problemsQuite a big jump as far as I can see between both chargers, just worried it might f my phone up, but would really appreciate faster charging times. |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Oct 3 2013, 05:32 PM) Anyone signed with Maxis under SurfMore Package? Advance payment is not necessary if you are already existing postpaid member for more than 1 year.I am looking at SurfMore50, below term stated by Maxis An advance payment of RM600 is required for 24-month contracts. This advance payment will be credited into your monthly bill over a 5-month period. RM600/5 = RM120/month. If i use less than that balance will be carry forward to next month? |

QUOTE(KMercury @ Oct 3 2013, 05:52 PM) Ok finally i managed to find out what is blocking my Note 3 from getting rooted just now. It was the security settings that i setup initially when i bought the phone. Just need to untick 'Verify apps' under General Tab > Security. Strange. Mine is always selected.Maybe you have messed up with Knox earlier on |
