My Jazz GK5 V spec always has the brake squeaking sound in the morning. After warming up the brake, the sound is gone. I google for the root cause and found out due to rust build up on the disc plate or drum surface.
Does your GK5 has such problem? How to remedy this nuisance?

QUOTE(nm7 @ Sep 26 2016, 09:29 AM) Rusts usually does not cause squeaking sound. More like rough sounds when the brake is used for a very short while .Usually the rust sound goes as soon as you dab the brakes when you move. You park under an exposed spot a lot? Usually only rain or water will cause it to rust, it should not rust for no reasons. High carbon steel rotors will help but only to a certain extend. Actually park under hot sun will not have such issue. My parking spot is located at basement of my apartment. The issue is the rust build on disc rotor/drum surface. A few braking to remove the dust, then no more squeaking.

QUOTE(rageLE @ Oct 27 2016, 10:46 PM) anyone hearing an eerie sound when you are pressing your brakes? Is it screeching sound from the disc brake when you press the brake pedal? It will go away once the rust on your disc had been grounded off after a few brakings.

QUOTE(rageLE @ Oct 30 2016, 06:45 AM) Yes it is and it just started recently , and thank you for the advice I am having this problem also especially I park my car at the condo basement car park. The wet and cold environment and never get direct sunlight will make my brake screeching every morning. Kind of embarrassing. Once I drove out of my condo, the sound will be gone.

QUOTE(Eithanius @ Nov 1 2016, 02:29 PM) Ok, Honda AutoWorld SB confirms my starter has problems, but before I can claim warranty, I was told that I need to remove my Voltage Stabliser off my car battery. Ok, VS removed, now they tell me that my car battery is not original and not up to spec, cannot proceed until car battery is changed. Deng...!!! That fooking battery came with my car and I installed VS on top of it for over 2 years liao, and they said Honda don't issue wet batteries on new cars, only maintenance-free batteries. Pookemak, had to fork out 200 bucks to change battery just to claim warranty. I'm writing in to Honda to complain dy. If they can't provide original battery when delivering cars, imagine what other fooking parts that are NOT original being installed on new cars...? Bro, maybe it is the problem of your Honda sales agent. They can swap out anything before you getting the car. Anyway, forget about the VS. New cars are quite well voltage stabilized by design in the factory. If you installed the VS in wrong way (e.g. charged VS and you swapped the polarity), you might fry your ECU and other sensors.

QUOTE(Eithanius @ Nov 1 2016, 05:55 PM) What's more mind-boggling is that to qualify for warranty claims, my battery has to be Honda certified specs. Meaning if your original battery dies within 3- or 5-year warranty period, you will have to buy a battery from Honda SC, else if you buy and install outside, say bye bye to your warranty. If your car battery dies outside somewhere, would you call a tow truck to have your car dragged back to Honda SC, or look for the nearest workshop to replace battery...? Which is more logical to you...? Challenge them to show you the written rules where the battery must be supplied by Honda SC. Also ask them whether tyres must be bought from Honda SC? There are few items especially wear and tear type aren't covered by Honda SC. But again, your VS already exposed your intention to modify the car. You are on the losing ground actually.

QUOTE(nm7 @ Nov 1 2016, 10:02 PM) Seriously? the cars ain't even grounded properly If the car is not grounded properly... the first symptom to spot is the wheezing sound from your radio. Because radio always grounded to the car chassis and the battery negative pole is connected to the chassis as well. When there is a voltage difference, the wheezing sound can be heard.

QUOTE(jimmy G @ Nov 2 2016, 02:34 PM) I have a question regarding the hill.hold assist on a GK How exactly does it works? For my case, when I'm stationary on a slope once I disengage the brake, my car will fall back after 1 to 2 seconds rather than moving slightly forward. Is this how the HHA suppose to work ? Hill Hold Assist let you have a buffer time to step on gas pedal without letting car go back down the slope. It is not holding until you step on gas pedal.

QUOTE(Victor3010 @ Nov 12 2016, 03:24 PM) Went and enquire about the jazz, giving about 9k discount at the moment... Seems like a good deal, though it means a face-lift is coming soon at this discount rate Should i get the 1.5V jazz? Can android hdmi work to the built in screen, using a note4, and would stick to Android too for the next phone.. I suspect the touch screen on the car built in head unit won't work when connected to HDMI right? Not facelift, Jazz Hybrid gonna launch soon.

QUOTE(chanti-sama @ Nov 17 2016, 06:38 PM) Hi all, noob question... wats the interval for changing timing belts on the jazz 2013? Im thinking of not continue with Yong Ming jb and go to workshop nearer to my place. L15A is using timing chain. Normally mechanic just grease and tighten the chain. The belt you need to change could be the air cond compressor one.

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Nov 25 2016, 04:05 PM) CVT where got gears. It only had two variable pulley with a chain. The 2 pulleys are just a part of the CVT gear box. We need a torque converter between the engine and CVT pulleys as well.

QUOTE(twho @ Dec 11 2016, 03:44 PM) I notice in my jazz (2weeks) when it's starts moving and starts to pickup there will be like a sound (knocking sound). Any idea what that is? Is it normal? The sound should be coming from CVT gear It is quite normal though. My only complaint is the roof noise (near the map lights and motion sensor).

QUOTE(M@rine @ Dec 30 2016, 08:51 AM) I also have the same problem. The noise at the roof is annoying and after i sent my car for service, now my dashboard also make some weird noise Dashboard one... it should be the left passenger side one. If you pulled down the glove box, put your hand into above left aircond duct inside. You can feel there is a gap between your top dashboard cover (a.k.a SRS airbag cover). Slid in anti slip mat (fold it into smaller square) in between the aircond duct and dashboard cover will eliminate the vibration. All I can say is.... Honda Malaysia is slacking in padding up the contact points between 2 hard surface material. I do not see such problem in Honda Fit built in Japan though

Did i put it in correctly? have no idea where the noise come from. Sifu, please help guide meĀ You put it below the aircond duct... which is not correct. Try to slid in between your aircond duct and your dashboard (a.k.a airbag cover) Click image to enlarge This post has been edited by Dothan: Jan 2 2017, 07:46 PM

QUOTE(whitewhite @ Jan 3 2017, 11:21 PM) Hi everyone, i just got my car last week. I notice when my air cond compressor kick in i can hear a loud 'tak' 'tak' noice, is this normal at every Jazz? My steering is also having some noise while i turn it. That compressor sound seems not a good sign. But for steering wise, you may hear some hissing sound after first few min starting engine. This is normal.

QUOTE(oucheev @ Jan 5 2017, 09:12 PM) May I know whether the touchscreen for jazz have gps? If not, can it mirror link to an android phone? Unfortunately the Mirror Link app functionalities in Malaysia is next to nothing. Forget the navigation possibility on the unit, use your own phone instead.

QUOTE(oucheev @ Jan 6 2017, 03:47 PM) Thanks for the update. What's the use of the hdmi port? Anyway to add reverse camera? I should be getting my car next week. What is the first thing I should do after getting the car? The V spec head unit does support reverse camera. Just let the accessories shop to install for you will do.
