Currently focusing on Kagerou-class and Yuugumo class grinding for equipments and as backup DDs

Map 5-1 is very good for DDs grinding enemy SS for good exp... setup: 1 kashima/Katori + 4DDs loaded with ASW + 1 BBV for 2nd shellinging

By the way,

Despite a lot of imba big guns released throughout the events, I still find 35.6cm +6 so far the best performing for all kind of events.

For newcomer TTK, these are the weapons you can aim for improvement if you got Akashi waifu~:

Weapon (2nd flagship for weapon improvement)

BB-related:
1. 35.6cm +6 (Fusou) ==> try to aim to improve for at least 10 guns; 4 guns for support fire, another 2 guns for combined escort fleet, finally 4 red guns for 4BBs at main fleet
2. 15.2cm yellow cannon +6 (Yamashiro) ==> surprisingly useful for red/yellow/AP/seaplane setup, another huge boost for accuracy. Extra accuracy boost for any CLT-class too.
3. AP shells +6 (as many sets as you can, BB without AP shells are pretty useless in PVP, Radar is only for those fuel/ammo draining nodes on maps)

CA/CL/DD related:
1. 90mm green high angle cannon +10 (considered as secondary cannon)
2. 15.2cm twin red gun + 6
3. 14cm twin red gun + 6 (not 14cm single, this is refer to the Agano-class ship guns)

All these only cost 1 screws per weapon upgrade until +6 grade, which is achievable by spamming a daily quest.

no worries, LSC is so easy to get nagato/mutsu.

Get all the basic equipments +6 first (those 1 screws per upgrade), +6 equips I guess can add +3 accuracy per gun/AP shells? not yet venture into that area much yet...

For me, getting everything basic ready for smooth sail event clearance is more important than rushing beyond capacity to upgrade those big guns.

Big gun/high level equip upgrades is for those old TTKs, who already did countless LSC and simply grinding event for screws only...

During events/bonus medal maps, what combined fleet/critical nodes clearing needs is accuracy and stability on DPS, having a 2 reds +6 and AP shell +6, is much much practical/better than having 2 super big guns without much weapon improvement.

Basic weapon improvement, All only use 1 screws per upgrade till +6:

35.6cm red => Friday - Sun(Fusou), always put this as top priority when it comes to Fri-Sun
15.2cm yellow => Mon - Wed(Yamashiro)
90mm green HA cannon => Mon - Thurs(Littorio), beyond +6 you might need to use 100% upgrade but quite worth for 2 screws per upgrade.
AP shells => Mon(Kirshima), Wed and Thurs(Hiei)

Optional weapon upgrade: 14cm twin red(Yuubari KAI), 15.2 twin is highly recommended ONLY IF you have Agano-class CLs ready as Flagship, these cannons are very good substitute for 15.2 yellow cannon.

From the info you posted, I only appreciate that:

-You pointed out the which type of red guns best fit on which class of BB

Other the rest is just for those super old/rich TTKs, not really practical for events preparation for most TTKs.

Even without these info on papers, we all know that:

1. Common logic: we all know that, all big red guns beat 35.6cm gracefully(in term of firepower and maybe accuracy)
2. What matters: Cost of screws per upgrade, and achievable in a short time
3. What we need: Mass production of basic main red guns with reliable accuracy for main/escort fleet (+6 upgrade for all BB guns)
4. Firepower loss can be compensated effectively by having AP shells, accuracy bonus/penalty is much bigger issue than firepower loss

38cm Kai => Bismarck DREI, for god sake she need 2 blue prints for a pair of 38cm Kai? and please don't mention about the cost per upgrade~
381mm Kai => Better than 38cm Kai but, 1 blueprint only can get 1 X 381mm Kai from italia/Roma? the cost same as 38cm Kai per upgrade~
41cm => Should be the last option if no other 35.6cm upgrades pending, why? Nobody will use ise-class for events(BBV firepower without Kai2 is really subpar, unless emergency shiplocked)

Nagato-class imho, so far best with 41cm + 14cm/15.2cm twin gun for greater accuracy boost, but since 41cm require 2 screws per upgrade until +6, so 35.6cm+6 remain viable choice for accuracy boost than vanilla 41cm.

Nothing wrong from your point of view, spend more screws for greater firepower & accuracy + best fit, nothing wrong at all.

But does everyone afford to have a pair of 38cm Kai(maybe even at least 1 main gun per BB) for all their BBs? We are talking about only Fusou-class + Nagato-class + Kongou-class only => 8BBs in total only, excluding Italian-class ships & Yamato-class.

My point of view:
all 35.6cm +6 guns, fitted on all BBs, along with AP shells +6. All these achievable using daily screw quest, no need to spend even a single screws extra for them.

38cm Kai is worthless to upgrade after italia-farming been introduced to 4-5(If multiple littorio farming is allowed), since 381mm kai much superior choice cause VERY LONG RANGE, VS per blueprints usage.

In term of practicality & cost, whats the overall cost of having 7 pairs 38cm Kai/381mm Kai +6 for firepower? Hmm maybe 7 blueprints(7 months cycles? 4 medals per month) + 252 screws? (100% chance success upgrade)
Maybe IF you got "252++ screws" + 7 blueprints, maybe 1 pair of 38cm Kai, the rest 381mm Kai? for all FBBs (Bismarck, Italia/Roma, Kongou 4 sisters)

252 screws => 7 pair of guns need 4 screws per 100% upgrade, up to +6 stars, thus 14 X 24 => 336 minus the daily screws 84(14 X 6) => 252

The only downside of all 35.6cm +6 upgrade is, the no. of upgrades can be done PER WEEK.

TL DR version:


1. 35.6cm +6 upgrade is the best cost-effective solution of gaining extra accuracy, but takes time cause limited upgrade per week.(might need 6 months due to the upgrading for 16 main guns for 8BBs)
2. 38cm Kai is worthless to upgrade when compare to 381mm Kai due to similar stats but VERY LONG RANGE matters.
3. The cost of upgrading 38cm Kai is almost same as 381mm Kai.
4. 14cm/15.2 twin gun much better in most yellow guns in term of accuracy boosting.
5. 6 months(35.6cm) VS 7 months(381mm Kai) of waiting.

you know, those 38cm Kai/381mm Kai upgrades , is not really 100% success if using 3 screws (4 screws 100% success), thus I dare not to bet my screws on RNG sama when upgrading.

35.6cm is actually 100% success and it cost 1 screw only, up to +6, going further +6 is not really recommended as there are better weapon that need screws to upgrade.

For Italia, 2 blueprint for 2 good main gun, 2 good yellow gun, and 2 fabulous(green/AAFD/secondary) is actually well-spent, at least much much better than Bismarck Drei (2 blueprints for 2 good main guns, and 1 decent seaplane, and 1 normal Flak gun only), summore VERY LONG RANGE main red gun from Italia/Roma~

My past priority records using blueprints:

Choukai K2 > CVB > Fusou > Abukuma > Any equipment-based Ships remodel

1. Choukai k2 upgrade must be done asap, almost all her equips is another level on many aspects:
- Lets forget about the main gun, it is the imba Radar we looking for, 1 tier lower than FUMO25 radar(almost impossible to get from events due to Prinz Eugen), but much easier to attain
- Skilled Lookout is 1 of the most essential part in Yasen, cut-in rate increased significantly, besides that the additional +3 evasion and +2 accuracy are so valuable~
- I received my very first searchlight for her which its role is very important in Yasen.

2. CVB ranked 2nd cause my CV always taiha by Golden BB at pre-BOSS node, I did post some screenshot showing how both of my chuuha-CVBs proceed and clear the stage with immense firepower~ CVs is trash if chuuha'ed
except REPPU MULE

3. Fusou/Yamshiro because, you will need at least 1 BBV with good firepower with Zuiun model 12 in order to get past sub node easily. Ise-class or any Kai only BBV just wont cut it.

Relax bro, am just sharing my experience here so that other TTKs can understand and not to take a long way reaching the same result, as I did.

Yea gotta admit, those maths/equations are making my head hurts too, thus I just do some simple estimation based on logic & feels and enjoy the game that's it.

from my side, instead of blaming RNG-sama/Tanaka, I get my fleet everything basic ready, and less reliant on RNG-sama's mercy. The only thing I can't do much is just the drops~

I view those statistics & maths as general overall reference only(1-1-1 no fatigue spam, is nowhere near the event/BOSS node estimation, thus not accurate for me)

Eh how come you got only 1 Flight Deck? From event? Both flight deck now available after clearing Zuikaku/Shoukaku tedious chain quests.

I see, its actually not that hard to grind the quest-required shipgirls level until Kai-lvl...

Any DDs/CLs who need to grind until Kai-lvl => Map 5-1-sub node

Fleet setup: any 5DD/CLs of your choice + 1 BBV(I pick ise-class)

Equip setup:
Flagship DD/CL => Type 3 Sonar + Type 3 Depth Charges(Strongest setup so that always get MVP + Flag EXP)
rest of the DDs/CLs => Weaker Sonar & Depth charges + normal Radar(if 3 slot available)
BBV => DA setup with Radar

This method can boost the flagship DD/CL to their Kai-lvl and get the equipments/clearing composition/sortie in certain ships quests in a very short time. Flag + MVP => 1192 exp

For my case, 5-1=>B=>D sub node, have to go thru a maelstrom(can be further reduced by 3 ship with radar from your fleet), roughly 70% chance get to B node.

If you happen get to A node, just retreat/hit F5...

Every 10 min can do once... No exp wastage, fully lvling all your DDs/CLs, BBV DA setup just leeching minor exp and providing 2nd shelling ASW strike

Always can swap any DD which is pending in your waiting list, in case chuuha/taiha happens.

Now I trying to find isuzu/ayanami/other potential DDs to grind summore =_=|||, the rest all reach Kai2/kai level...

A lot of map nodes actually can farm DD/CL, just that the resource cost VS repair time VS exp gained ratio which only a very few of them suitable for spamming.

How you spam 5-4 with minimum cost and repair times?

Map 5-1-sub node is great for DD/CL grinds

Kasumi Kai2 => Full power lvling (PVP/3-2A/5-1)

My Kasumi finally reached lvl 75... 13 more levels to go... T_T...

Bucket counts: 300+
Resources checked: ammo 30k(least among 4 of them)
BB: all available BBs at least 80 lvls (all equipped with 35.6cm +6, 15.5 sec. gun, and +6 AP 91 shell)
CA: at least 2 CAs available for tackling hard mode(Maya K2 & Choukai K2, both lvl 100++)
CL: at least 6 of them are ready(3 kai2 and 3 kai)
DD: at least 18 of them are ready (1 fleet Kai2, 2 fleets Kai)
