Hi guys, I have a few questions, 1) What is the average speed for Fiber VIP5 package at 90% of time? 2) Is VIP5 package enough for streaming live tv such as pps on a pc and the other pc using for basic web browsing and watching 360p youtube videos for 90% of the time?
Thank you for your time

QUOTE(winter01942 @ Dec 6 2013, 10:32 PM) 1.to me it doesnt really drop to >20% of the speed, very consistent speed throughout the day ( 4.5~4.8 min maybe) 2. Still depends on the quality of the pps, if not really high quality content, then yes it is sufficient 4.5~4.8 mbps ? Thanks for the reply.

Hi guys, I am using VIP 5 and would like to stream live tv channel using my raspberry pi on my tv. But the stream is not very smooth and I would like to know how could I possibly detect the problem whether is the internet speed, router or the server. Can QOS, port forwarding or any other method help improve video streaming and stability? Thank you for your time.

QUOTE(azrash @ Jan 30 2014, 11:06 PM) are you streaming via LAN cable or wireless? stock router? if the stream is still not smooth via lan cable, then most likely it is routing issue. if it is smooth by LAN, but jerky on wireless, then perhaps the location is a bit too far, or hardware limitation of the router. others might be able to give better input, as my knowledge is fairly limited. QOS would only help if you are torrenting at the same time. i have a rpi running raspbmc and it streams okay from the PCs that are connected to the same wireless network. have not tried live tv as i hardly watch live stuff on the rpiI connect through LAN cable with stock router, if the problem is routing issue, how can I resolve the problem? Will custom router improve streaming? Btw, thank you for answering

QUOTE(azrash @ Jan 31 2014, 04:16 PM) routing is at TM's backends. have you tried lowering the stream quality? where is the video streaming from? have you tested streaming from other locations? This is the link I am trying to stream from, I don't think there is an option to lower the quality.... http://ifenglive.soooner.com/?uuid=5B63686...SDNSOOONERCOM00
