QUOTE(crazyito @ Jan 1 2014, 01:13 PM) To all the sifus here, I've just subscribed online for UniFi VIP5 few days ago. The next day, I received a call without number shown, claiming to be from TM. She was offering me 2 packages, one is 5Mbps+HyppTV - RM149 and another one is 10Mbps - RM148, without phone, HyppTV and decoder, free 100 minutes call to Maxis numbers and unlimited calls to fixed line. My question is, is there really such a package (RM148) for UniFi? Or it's actually Maxis Fibre? dude...i have just signed up via tmshop for vip10. magically, next day got private number call me, offer rm198 for 20mbps line WITHOUT hypptv. once i agreed, they told me its a cooperation between tm and maxis. now this creeped me liao. so i turn them off. I do guess that there are undercovers in tmshop, hijacking customers!can i complain>?

QUOTE(jolmy @ Jan 1 2014, 09:19 PM) TM UniFi (home users) all come with HyppTV, there is no such thing as without HyppTV unless you sign up for BIZ packages. So if anyone call you to offer without HyppTV, that is for Maxis Fiber. TMshop I believe is also a reseller, not TM themselves, and this reseller could also be a reseller for Maxis. eh? big big shop 1 wor.. is there a shop called "TM point"?I registered there.. those are resellers?tomoro i gonna go complain.

just want to know if the following can be done. if yes, please share method. I am planning to route the cable to my room upstairs with all the modems etc etc in my room. But internet will only be used in the upper level. where else lower ground would need the Hyptv and phone(Phone more important).
I know that hypptv can be routed via a aztec homeplug. so lets consider it done. but how do i route the phone downstairs? The cordless phone. so that my parents can charge, and use the phone from their room, instead of having the phone passed around when needed. Is this possible?
thanks again!

wanna ask... downloading from amsterdamn server on VIP 10. everything was fine at first. But 2 hours later, i only get a max speed of 280kbps. so i open 5 downloads in FTP, all of them average of 2xxkbps. means line is not throttled, or i am being throttled to max 2xxkb per thread?
*speed test to penang gets a healthy 9-10mbps.(no one stealing my line, yet)

anybody here set "fixed IP" for their pc/laptop? on my streamyx time, i always used "202.188.1.5" as primary and "202.188.0.133" as secondary.
but now on unify liao, what should i set it?I am currently using " 8.8.8.8" and "8.8.4.4". why in fixed ip these must be entered?cant it be automatic?
*meanwhile still trying to figure out why capped at 290kbps per thread.

QUOTE(Ahmaz @ Jan 8 2014, 10:47 PM) huh. You mean DNS? I use the google DNS as well. It can be auto.. just check the tickbox? tried it, internet works. but the "no-ip" software i used for my remote desktop dont work. weird. must put in dns in order to work. hm..nm, asked the server provider to give a test file on other location to confirm the problem.

QUOTE(jovial @ Jan 27 2014, 09:48 AM) Maybe cause your PC is downloading updates in the background i dont think so. cos if i use flashget, i can get up to 1.1mbps download. QUOTE(azrash @ Jan 27 2014, 02:38 PM) and another thing is to roll out fibre is very costly. Time concentrates more on high rise building since the cost would be lower and higher potential customer in one area. have you tried using FreeDownloadManager? an open source alternative to IDM. I use it to download via FTP and i get max speed, around 12xx KB/s for my VIP 10 will try it tonite. thanks.
