QUOTE(oink_oink @ Aug 10 2009, 01:02 AM) QUOTE(alexander3133 @ Aug 8 2009, 06:39 PM) Hi all, I have a situation like this, I will be travelling to UK this coming September. While I am inside UK, I want to travel to Switzerland. In this case, do I need to apply VISA for Switzerland? And, travelling to UK for a week do not required a VISA right? Thanks. I hate it when some of those bad apples overstayed or jumped aeroplane and cause the entire country to be blacklisted. Malaysians going to Switzerland DO NOT need visa! Got this info here: http://www.eda.admin.ch/eda/en/home/reps/a...inf/vismys.html Added on August 10, 2009, 10:25 am QUOTE(oink_oink @ Aug 7 2009, 01:28 AM) Hi all, i need some advices here regarding US travel visa (B-1/B-2) type... Oh...if visiting friend in US, you must have a letter of invitation (or email from your friend inviting you over to visit for that 2 weeks duration), return air ticket, letter from your bank and employer in Malyasia. i'm planning to visit a friend in Miami and travel around, somewhere around September, for about 2 weeks time. I'm going alone (fren working there currently, based at client's side until this year end) i'm concern on the US Visa. had anyone applied this visa recently? what's the minimum amount of your saving in bank? so that they won't suspect you are going to jump plane... i had prepared all the bank statement, car loan, letter from company, EA form, itinerary in Miami as what they stated in the website... any additional documents to prepare? Thanks!!! As long as bank account has enough money to cover for the duration of your stay in US, you are ok. More important is the US embassy look for things like that you've a job to return to Malaysia or a home that you owned in Malaysia. This is more important than your bank account. If you are unemployed and age less than 60, don't bother applying because they will reject you (high risk of jumping aeroplane...). This post has been edited by danmooncake: Aug 10 2009, 10:25 AM |

QUOTE(yoonagg @ Aug 21 2009, 08:56 PM) Chinese Visa Centre will only open from 9am till 11.45am for application. I have questions on this one. * am I too late to answer you? hehe... a) Is that their place at the OSK building, Ampang area? b) Besides photo, fee (Rm30) and valid passport, we don't have to provide return air-ticket or itineary or proof of income something like that, right? I plan to visit China, ShenZhen for self-tour but no plan of any itineary or plane ticket yet. c) If apply on Monday, pickup Thursday (4 days later)? |

yoonagg:
Followup question: I understand Oct 1st is National Holiday for China and probably the Consulate office will be closed. What about the following week: From Oct 5th, 2009 (Monday) to Oct 8th, 2009 (Thursday) ? Any of these days will be closed? Thank you in advance. QUOTE(yoonagg @ Aug 26 2009, 07:26 AM) Hmm... a hard question for me. Unfortunately, I cannot due to out of town travel.I'm not sure whether we are closing cuz the current visa department will be take over on the coming October. means that, another new centre will be opening soon at the 2nd floor, prices might be increase. So if u want to apply china visa, i would encourage you make it before October. Appreciate it, if you can check with your dept if they're schedule to close on the week of Oct 5 to Oct 8. Thank you. |

QUOTE(EvilBeing @ Sep 14 2009, 05:04 AM) LATEST NEWS! I don't think they'll reduce the price at all. They'll find ways to squeeze more money out from us rakyat. It took them this long to figure this out Let's hope they push through with it this time or... they can always reduce back the price It used to be passport is valid for 10 years and you can renew them overseas if you're working or studying there. Now, no more 10 years passport and no more renewal. Must apply new one no matter. What a way for the govt to make more money. |

Speaking of passport, you guys seen this?:
https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/worr...t-jb-checkpoint What happens if reverse is true? What happens if you're Malaysian and carry Malaysia passports and you entered a foreign country and they forgot to stamp you. Do other countries ban you due to their own administrative mistake? Another thing odd thing is, why we still care about the physical ink stamping in days of electronic biometric data entry at the border?
