Guys, urgent help needed i'm travelling next week 29th July 2009 but i just realized my passport expiry is on 15th Jan 2010 (which is leess than 6 months if you count the days not the month) It is stated "Passport baru hendaklah dipohon jika tempoh sahlaku adalah kurang daripada 6 bulan ......." my questions 1) would the immigration stop me from boarding the plane when i pass trough their checkpoint (technically my passport still valid and i paid for the 6 months already) 2) if i need to apply new passport, wouldn't it be unfair as i'll lost the last 6 months validity of my old passport? QUOTE(new~b0y @ Jul 25 2009, 03:52 PM) X-Zen, 1) would the immigration stop me from boarding the plane when i pass trough their checkpoint (technically my passport still valid and i paid for the 6 months already) Not sure, I have never done it before. You might be lucky at Malaysian checkpoint, you won't be so lucky at your final destination. Worst case, you might be deported back to Malaysia and got blacklisted.
2) if i need to apply new passport, wouldn't it be unfair as i'll lost the last 6 months validity of my old passport? No! You'll get a maximum of 6 months extra if you apply before the passport expired. Thanks bro just to update 1. yes the immigration would not allow you to pass. in fact the china consular will not issue any visa for you if passport less that 6 months. so guys, please check your passport before booking 2. yes, 6 months extra is given when you renew passport
