update regarding the regional sim lock

QUOTE
While Samsung’s wordings aren’t very clear, it seems that the Galaxy Note 3 will actually be usable everywhere, but not before it is activated with a SIM from the region it was bought in. Once you activate it/use it with a local SIM, you’ll be able to visit other regions/travel abroad and use it with SIM cards from that particular region without issues. This is likely to reduce grey imports by retailers and those who want to make a quick buck by importing the device and selling it at higher prices, as the retailer would have to open the box to activate it before selling it, which would make it less attractive to a buyer. However, until Samsung makes an even clearer statement, you probably should refrain from importing even a Note 3 that has been activated in its home region.

so conclusion, no need to worry about it

last 1, I just saw got Kies and Kies 3 @@
Kies 3 supported device for Note 3 and later
Kies supported device before Note 3

Note is almost equivalent to their S series then.

.....and it was clear that the phablet – now a word in the Oxford dictionary – was here to stay, and that Samsung was the unchallenged king of the phablet market.
*
really got Phablet this word in Oxford dictionary eh ?
I just saw got its wikipedia whistling.gif

thanks Samsung for making this phablet thumbup.gif

phablet
New words: August 2013
Pronunciation: /ˈfablət/
noun
trademark

a smartphone having a screen which is intermediate in size between that of a typical smartphone and a tablet computer:a 3.5 inch screen is inadequate in a market that is trending towards phablets

Origin:

early 21st century: blend of phone1 and tablet
un_id of course you may disagree, but if you consider current cumulative sales, Samsung is still king of the phablet hill today. It may change later though, we'll see.

okay I salute already, phablet word created by Samsung laugh.gif

Well he went ranting on about the same thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again........

He did it with the HTC One and before he got the Z as well.....

Anyway....I see most of the non-Samsung users get their phones for the following reasons:

1. I want to be different and not an ifag or Samsungfag
2. I want premium feel/design etc non functional requirement
3. I got bored with Samsung
4. I got device (x) as it meets my needs.

I suspect most fall into 1 and 2, and some in 3. 4 will be the least (for non-Samsung devices).

For me, I will state that 4 is why I choose Samsung. It meets my needs.
*
fall in number 4 also smile.gif

We (or at least the flashoholics) are trying to avoid Knox as best as we can.

Perhaps you can watch the video under Specs in post 3 and see what it's supposed to do.
*
wonder when note 2 & s3 get 4.3 update got the knox or not
and why need avoid it, don't understand rclxub.gif

Asian Galaxy Note 3 units exempt from Samsung's annoying region lock

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Asian-Galax...on-lock_id47795

An Australain retailer has received the first batches of 16 and 32 GB Note 3 units, arriving from Hong Kong, and has confirmed that they were able to use them with an Australian SIM card without issues, and there is no region-lock warning label on the box with them.
