People are driven to do really stupid things because of owing money to Ah Longs.

And yet, we hardly ever heard the Pulis go tangkap Ah Longs.

Even in this "operation anti-tatoo", the Pulis still not going after the Ah Longs.

Why the Pulis so fren2 with the Ah Long, ah ?

my theories is most Ah Long is criminal gangster,

PDRM cant eliminate them because when they had their revenge its going to be bloody.

so they negotiatiot a treaty to let the Ah Long to their business and PDRM wont disturb them unless they break the treaty

Tangkak, Johor, is the place where the BIGGEST ah long come from.

Many multi-million ringgit pinjaman (yes, even listed corporations turn to ah long from time to time) came from Tangkak Johor

But if you go to Tangkak Johor you don't see any big mansion. Instead, you see farms, estates, ladang, and farmers.

And oh yeah, the pulis in Tangkak have a special duty - to make sure that outside "force" don't come in to kacau.

so, what did ah long did wrong?


pulis better go get snatcher , instead of ah long.

Ah Long make ILLEGAL PINJAMAN.

According to the law, you need to be REGISTERED WITH BANK NEGARA before you can pinjam duit (and kutip bunga).

Back in the 1970's and 80's, there were some licenses given out. But no more license anymore for the past 30 odd years.

Which means, the vast majority of Ah Longs still operating in Malaysia are operating ILLEGALLY.

but, there is no harm.

seriously mang, ah long is the saviour for those small time hawker. i read this from newspaper i only understand why they existed all the while.




i dont think their major income is lending to gambler and then try to kill them for not repaying loan. their daily biz is to borrow to the poor biz man.
