QUOTE(cks2k2 @ Oct 30 2013, 02:47 PM) iianm the mica vl launcher can also fire the aster 15. MICA-VL M don't need launcher. it can be launch direct from storage canister. that's why it cheap (AAM system). It's another story if we acquire Sylver Launcher.

QUOTE(Phillip_x @ Oct 30 2013, 03:00 PM) Sylver launcher A43 is able to support both Miica Vl and Aster 15 ..from what little open source info available ...but not not the Sylver A35 launcher. Mica VL can use the Seawolf launcher. If it's true, then our Navy can secretly equipped our Lekiu-class with MICA. Oh waiii.... This post has been edited by pcboss00: Oct 30 2013, 03:36 PM

QUOTE(MrUbikeledek @ Oct 30 2013, 03:30 PM) the job of most shipborne SAM is more to shoot down incoming missile then to engage enemy aircraft. With the profileration of the stand off weapons in the market, the launching aircraft can stay well outside the envelope of most of the long and medium range SAM operational today. to be precisely, to eliminate any flying/airborne threat within it range. asm, helicopter, plane, uav even witch on a broom stick. QUOTE(ET-Force @ Oct 30 2013, 09:30 PM) you dont say. My mind blew when i saw the displacement gonna be more that 14k tonnes. Almost like ballictic missile subs already. The vertical launching system got so awesome that i dont even cannot imagine how it works. Peripheral VLS? Dafuq is that. Cancelled CG(X) even bigger. 25k tonnes and powered by nuke.

Actually it in f-18 road map. If you want f-18, that the only model they have. If they shut the production line, they still can open it back if only we agree with the price.

QUOTE(Phillip_x @ Nov 19 2013, 09:14 PM) No objections whatsoever ... only depends on the specs in totality ...and the main question till when will they will support the A/C...since legacy FA 18 parts only constitute less than 25 % of FA 18 E/F and look at at the the numbers of FA 18 E/F sold, it does not look quite assuring or cost effective ...500 a/c sold, as to 2011 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_F/A-18E/F_Super_Hornet ) Some af still operate f-5 variant and phantom. QUOTE(KYPMbangi @ Nov 27 2013, 04:41 PM) Yup, beside look at thailand, probably the most experienced user of tanks in the asean region operating up to six types of tanks to date Their latest procurement is also a modernized russian t-series like us, surely they know what's best for them I believe our pendekar one of the cheapest and economical to operate among others. best platform to learn and build our tank doctrine. QUOTE(kinabalu @ Nov 27 2013, 05:01 PM) There is a reason why Leopard is the most popular export tank in the world. If one or two country choose maybe got their requirement, but when there are so many.... sure got reason in terms of (cost, ability and maintanence n etc) true. even many army operate leo MBT, I think only Germany produce all the spare parts. Meanwhile, for T-72 family... Same 2 step forward plan/reason when we mix our jet fighter.
