Just got an A119 with hardwire. I am still thinking should I hardwire to a dead or live fuse when the engine is switched off. Reason is sometimes I don't even drive the car for a whole week.

How bad is the battery drain from your experience?

I’ve an issue here. I tried tapping into several fuse but the problem comes when my car’s idle auto start stop kicks in. Everytime when my engine restart after the traffic light, the camera will flicker and the camera restarts.

Anyone has this issue and how did u overcome it?

Edit: when I plug into ciggy port, it works perfectly.

I’ve been googling around but could not find any real fix. I’ve tapped to more than 6 or 7 diff fuses and it’s the same result. I tried to tap to my radio but there’s no interruption to the radio during the start stop process but it affects the dashcam. I don’t know if it’s because the hardwire cut off at 11.6V and a restart drop the voltage lower than that. I currently suspect that.

I think I am gonna give up and gonna take it out and rewire it to the ciggy port. Only way to get it work with start stop. Abit ugly but no choice since I use the start/stop quite abit especually in long traffic lights.

Any who wants my original Viofo 2 wire hardwire kit? Sell cheap cheap 😛

For now, yes. I am manually disabling the start stop everytime i get into the car till I figure out a way or choose to rewire it to the ciggy port. I want to monitor my FC different also without start stop.

Do you think wiring to the relay fuse in the engine bay makes any different?

I am tapping the acc fuse now. It still cut off. Now my way is temp disabling start/stop for now.

Starting up again.
