a comment by a youtube reviewer on 'cheap' car video recorders is that don't expect these to be able to last long under hot sun. anyway, i guess if it can be easily detached, maybe good idea to just take and keep it somewhere safer? after all, i think we all do that with smartphones, gps and smart tags too... dun just leave it plastered on windscreen.

I've been considering using action cam to double up as dash cam. one reason being action cam got built in battery, so no need cables.

was looking at sj4000 till XiaoMi announced their Yi Action Cam...

sorry, no... ended up, decided i prefer to just put in extra money and get an action cam instead. i have uses for action cam as well. but ya, the action cam won't have as many functions/ features as the dashcam, but i guess its a trade-off i can accept.

but... have not decided which one to get yet. almost got an sj4000... actually got it, found to be fake, and got full refund.
