Still hesitating whether to buy the GW1-CB coz worry will attract theft attention. Initially plan to mount it on the rear mirror as i do not want to damage my tint. But i cancelled the order. Do you guys hide the dash cam or leave it on?

The camera can dismount from the mount effortlessly, just remove it when you've parked your car in public. I dont understand some peoples big concern if its "stealth" or not.

I just remove it and but take the memory card with my as the last thing you want is the alleged thief having a video recording of where you came from (eg, your home).

I also thought of that. But i am afraid of the mini usb port and mouting lock will wear off. Since the GW1-CB is made in China, i believe the mini usb connectors are also from China hence low mating cycles.

Bro, so did u preorder one from gearbest?
I thought battery dashcam not suitable from our climate?
Its better to get a capacitor one?

Still wondering should i get the G1w-cb or this Xiaoyi dash cam.
But ofcoz in terms of spec, Xiaoyi wins!

Anyone using Viofo A119 who experienced failed recording, be it due to memory card or whatever? When it failed, did you get any beeping warning or none?
Asking because I'm thinking of installing one at the rear, so I'd want to know how to detect non-recording.
*
Mine have the beeping sound coz the date and settings keep resetting due to faulty capacitor. So it keep on popping the Format memory card error.

Will it still be able to record if you ignore the beeping?
And I suppose it does the same if the SD card konks?
*
I didn't notice whether it was recording or not when the beeping occur. Coz there was pop up error in the screen. But i think u shouldnt ignore the beeping coz it means there is something wrong and your videos may not be record properly.
But after i set the settings again, it works normally but the last file always semi-corrupt due to the faulty capacitor. I have to play the last file from the dashcam then the video will auto fix.
If i off my engine, the power will immediately cut off and everything will reset.

Not plan to get it repair?. I can repair for you at a small cost.

I have sent to Viofo China to repair. They have changed my faulty capacitor and sent back to me. Currently most issue have solved except that the settings keeps resetting. Luckily the date didn't reset and the last file is not corrupted. I just ignore it for now la. Thanks for the offer.

Mine XiaoYi dashcam Gen1 already two years - bought on Aug 2016, still work well.
I also park in open car park area too.

The reason why this still work perfectly well - I always remove the dashcam and put in compartment that not expose to sunlight, this could be the main reason.  hmm.gif

I dont plug in and plug out because afraid the miniusb/microsub might fail. I doubt they are using good quality connectors with high mating cycles.

Sandisk HE no issue. Viofo MLC card is specially tweaked for all theirs product including GitUP action camera.

Viofo MLC cards seems like a good bargain. Their OEM is a Taiwan company. The cheapest i can find in SG (SG local distributor) for Transcend 64gb High Endurance also need to cost S$65.
